I am new to this group. I am curious if anyone has had any experience with forum websites (such as this one) for generating income (Ad sales I presume)? What type of income potential is out there? How much to start? Any advice would be appreciated. Thx

If you are curious about getting your own forum started and making money from it. You are right - the only way you can make money from your forum is offering advertisers places where they can post their banners, link ads, text ads and so forth. But the problem is - you have to be a very popular forum where you have at least 20,000 or more members. Otherwise - advertisers will say - you are not getting enough traffic and their ads will not be seen.

Many forums wait until they have 20,000 - 50,000 members before they asked advertisers to pay for advertising with them.
