Let`s leave this thread for members wishing to `follow` ~fishie~. Anything other than that should be started in a new thread.

Hey everyone! Was just wondering if anyone here is on Twitter and if you want to follow each other? I hvae really enjoyed what I have learned so far. It's not only fun, but is a great way to throw your content out there, whether it's video, blogs, articles, websites, etc.

Twitter's getting crowded recently. I think in 2009 many people will finally discover the marketing power of it. Take a close look at this site, you can use it for personal branding.

I have received many visits to my website(s) from my twitter account. There is power in this microblogging tool that is on the verge of taking off. Their venture capital is running out. Hopefully, they can figure out ads in a non-obtrusive way.

Here is my Twitter account. Follow me and I follow you.

What does Twitter actually `do` for Website owners? Are there backlinks to your site which will help PR, or what?
Uncle Awesome
Although you can link to sites in twitter posts, I doubt it really helps pr wise since there are just so many links posted and they probably are not weighted very high. I have a twitter account, but very rarely use it. I think internet marketers like it because if you have enough people who follow you, whenever you launch a new site, product, or sell something new as an affiliate you can announce it to everyone who follows you. Some people have thousands of followers.

Having said this maybe I am too missing whats so great about twitter.

I just think it's just a thing to spam just like Myspace.

Microblogging website Twitter has apparently become more popular than social news aggregation service Digg according to number crunchers and web analyst Hitwise.

Latest figures show that Twitter is the 291st most visited website in UK, shooting up from 2953 back in January 2008, a 974 percent improvement in one year alone and this only paints part of the story as Hitwise doesn't account for mobile users and those using third party applications.

Hitwise, whose ranking is based on Pageviews alone, shows that Twitter was ranked 84th worlwide while Digg was 85th, nothing that Digg's popularity shrunk marginally compared to last year.

Twitter in general also attracted more users than Digg in the crucial 25 to 34 age bracket, accounting for nearly half of Twitters accounts compared to less than a quarter for Digg.

Events like the recent Hudson River plane crash and the Mumbai bomb attacks have been pivotal in recruiting more Twitter'ers and giving access to a more mainstream audience.

Twitter, which counts 31 employees and whose sole purpose is to allow users to write posts of up to 140 characters in length, has hailed as the next big thing after recording a phenomenal growth rate and attracting a $500 million bid from none other than Facebook.

The three year old company has raised money from a number of venture capitalists but have yet to come up with a revenue model (although the Japanese version of the site is supported by advertising).

Twitter has also given rise to a number of third party applications that have helped grow Twitter's popularity. Twitpic.com, Tweetdeck, Tapulous, twitterank.com and many more now form part of a very dynamic and fast-growing ecosystem.

But at the end of the day, it is unlikely to matter since both services are complimentary rather than rivals and Hitwise only depicts part of the whole landscape.

I hope that they don't sell out to Facebook. They see a threat coming up, and they want to acquire it before it gets too big. I would hate to see twitter become nothing more than an application on FaceBook, it stands well on its own.

Microblogging is really getting popular now a days. With twitter, I simply like that feature to follow certain people's activities. And so, with this tool, you shouldn't miss any update.

My experience with Twitter has been very positive. First of all it stimulates interest ... since each "tweet" is short, it is easy to follow and respond. However, there may be a down side, namely if you fall into trivia. I would try to follow the advice of Mike Dillard, here, and always try to "add value". Good guide-line.

I agree! I am fairly new to Twitter but I know personally I do not follow anyone if I see no value being added to their tweets.

Hey,

Here is a free viral twitter following generator that I think is worth a look. I was hesitant at first since I didn't want to risk my account getting banned for growing too fast.

But after looking at this I could see it is independent of Twitter and is a really good system. Not to mention it's 100% free and you don't even have to give your email!

Here's the link, take a look and let me know what you all think.

Get 1000s of Twitter Followers Free Click Here!

Once you have 10s of thousands of followers you can twit them with all your promos anytime you want.

This is brand new so jump on while the train is leaving town!

Best wishes,
Zac
P.S. there is a learn how to use twitter promo after you join, but you don't have to use it, I didn't even take a look at it.

I don't know what you mean, I joined free. Yes there is a backend product they sell and an email capture but you don't have to do that to join the tweetergetter.

I don't get a dime if someone buys their other products. The tweetergetter is totally free.

Check your facts before making accusations.

I'm not a scammer and don't appreciate being called one.

Zac
P.S. I just took another look, there is a learn how to use and profit from twitter promo after you join, but I wasn't interested in that so I couldn't even tell you how much they want for it.

Hey you guys that are reading this... Just in case you didn't know, Twitter is getting HUGE. If you take a look at the some of "heavy hitters" in the marketing industry (you know, the guys making some SERIOUS cashflow) and see what applications they're using....

You'll find that they're on Twitter and constantly updating their information.

I'm talking about guys like Mike Dillard, Eben Pagan, Frank Kern, and even Barack Obama and Arnold Schwarzenegger are on Twitter!

Quite honestly if you're NOT using Twitter you might be leaving some serious money or connections or updates that can turn a few things around for you.

So my advice to you... Get your butt on Twitter and make some connections!

Thanks for reading.

Oh and by the way, you can find me on Twitter at:

You can connect with your followers and those whom you follow with 140 character messages referred to as tweets.

If you don't tweet at least once everyday, then I have coined the term which you would be as a half twit. LOL

Seriously just jump in with both feet and you'll learn from the others there.

You can make a lot of money every single day marketing to those people for one thing.
Twitter is the new MySpace.
Twitter is hot and people are joining everyday by the thousands .
And that translates into advertising and marketing revenue for you if you know how to harness those people.
Smart marketers make big money everyday on MySpace, Craigs List, GumTree and now Twitter.

The same software designer that helped people make thousands of dollars a day on the above sites with the help of his softwares,
has just created a new tool for Twitter.
This new tool will harness tens of thousands of those members for you to market to.
His history of success goes back for years, and when this guy designs a tool it's guaranteed to perform.
Performance translates into big money for advertisers.
Check out this new software in my link:

Edit: Hijacking
Buster123
This software designer made people rich while using his software on craigs list for the past 5 years.

He's just released his latest tool for Twitter.

Yes you will make good money.

I use twitter a lot to promote my content writing. I do find it increases my traffic a bit. How many of you have found it helps to build your home business?
silvesterlogin
Twitter is great because it's similar to blogging where you can get to express your thoughts and feelings. But it's more interactive because you'll get responses and replies to what you post. But you can post 140 character tweets.
JasonColon
To all of you who are not using twitter I have to say that you need to start.
If you want traffic to your website it is the way to go, within a week, my website got a 1000 hits, and to me that's pretty big!
Also, you can put targeted keywords into your tweets to get google listings.
Short but sweet!

one thing why I don't like following businessman in Twitter..

because they keep on flooding your email with spams related with their business, and most of the time they are don't think of helping you out..

I enjoy Twitter very much. It's a lot of fun and actually helps me with marketing. Recently though I lost about 70 followers in about one minute. It had to be some kind of glitch with Twitter because I noticed it happened to others as well. Anyway I was fortunate to get 70 new followers very quickly but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

I hope it's OK if I list my twitter here in case anyone wants to follow me and so I can follow you too.
My Twitter is cash4you

I love Twitter!

I don't post there near as much as I do Facebook, but I do get clicks every time I post a link. smile.gif

I happen to like that advertising sources such as Squidoo and PrWeb have used the twitter API to create an automatic update feature for their sites. I bookmark a lot of my articles and such so anything they can do to help make it a little more "hands free" is alright by me. smile.gif

I use Twitter to post links to articles I've written. I regularly submit articles to EzineArticles and you can change your settings within EzineArticles so that every time they approve an article they will automatically update your twitter account with a link to the article.

Great to generate some extra traffic for free.

An easy way to build your number of online followers is to find someone who has a large following and start following all of their followers.
You'll find a large amount of Twitterers will return the favour and begin following you.

But most importanlty, Twitter has an option that allows you to set your account to automatically follow anyone who starts following you.
So many people have this setting turned on.

I used this strategy and started following 2000 people on Twitter and within about 1 week had over 1300 people following me.
Reason I only followed 2000 is that's the limit. Not sure how you get higher than this yet. Probably need to have 2000 people following you.

It's unbelievable how quick and easy this is to do.

Cheers
Dan

I started using twitter and like it alot, seems to cut out what most people arent interested in as far as a profile and goes right to the links. Not sure if it is better than utube but for me at least it seems far superior to facebook for traffic.
