I'm not a professional poker player by all means, I'd be happy to walk out with a few extra bucks in my pocket. However, what would you consider a fairly decent night in poker?
This would depend on what you play. If you play cash and follow BR management then your are looking at bbs/100. Sng's you are looking $/hr. In MTT's you look at your expectation, IE you know over time you will have a 80% roi in MTT's. So good nights are few and far between. But when you have them they are huge scores.
That's why I prefer the sng/mtt combo. I keep my BR stable with sng's waiting on my next MTT score. Yoda
I also prefer the sng/mtt combo as well. I'm getting much better at poker the more I understand it. Right now I'm kind of an amature at poker, but I hope to get better in the near future.

A site called www.sharkscope.com tracks SNG play. I currently have over 4000 sng's logged on stars. I usually 8-12 table and my ROI is 16%. That's better then any HYIP because it's proven and long term.
Poker is about a steady grind. Be patient and work your way up slowly, don't take shots cause for every 1000 people who take a shot only one of them hit it big and that's not worth it. Yoda
A good night for me usually means I'm up $500 or more. But really anything in the green is good with me!
