I'm curious to who all runs Windows Vista. I've heard so many negative comments about it in the recent months. I just purchased a new 2.6Ghz quad core Dell PC with Vista. I must say that it is one of the best OS that I have worked with. Everything seems so professional. I really like the black look compared to the bright blue/green look of XP.

I do have a few tweaks that needs ironed out. Anyhow, I just thought I would share my experience with this OS. Feel free to post any positive/negative input.

The only problem you might face is driver issues with certain devices. If you upgrade anything on your computer, be sure that there are drivers for Vista before you commit to that product.

The only negative that I have for Vista, is that it requires a good amount of RAM to be productive. I'm currently using 3GB of RAM and it runs adequate for me. I'm upgrading my RAM tomorrow to make it run great.

I also have Ubuntu 7.10 as my OS on my other hard drive. That is another great operating system that I must recommend if Vista ever gets you down.

Good luck with Vista!

as for me Vista got lots of issues. Of course small issues but lots of them! I prefer WindowsXP and have no problems!
Anyway Vista is more hard for viruses invention! So the choice depends only on your remorses!!!!!!

Its not a good idea to use it now because it is bound to have flaws. I suggest waiting for microsoft to fix it completely first.

To be honest its just eye candy. Its slow and buddy even with my quad core PC with 3gb ram

Since they put out SP1, there's really nothing horrible about it. I run it on my laptop with only 2GB of RAM, and it runs OK.

I think a lot of developers were waiting for SP1 before committing to Vista. You'll probably see the benefits of this in the coming months.

I'm not a big fan of Windows, but it's hard to not have it partitioned on your hard drive due to the programs and applications that require it. WINE just doesn't cut it sometimes.

I think it is going to be much better and it has many drivers now. At beginning I was shocked to use the OS but it is going good now.

I have a Dell computer which came with Vista. It`s ok I guess, though the driver was a problem when I first got it, but all is ok now.

Better option for Vista is make sure your machine is 64-bit if you do decide to run Vista.

But I'm thinking Vista is a stepping block to the next Microsoft OS, basically like a Windows Me from 98 to 2k/XP

I've been using Vista for over a year and still haven't had a major problem, people only think Vista is bad because of all those people out there who know nothing about computers and when they have a problem they can't fix they rant and blame the OS when it was probably themselves who did something that messed up the system. I have AMD Phenom X4 and only 3 gb of ram and it's fast and I have no problem playing games like CSS.
Let's face it majority of people are eventually going to move to Vista over XP so quit ranting about Vista because you're influenced by Apple's ads and other peoples blogs.

it doesn't give high performance for me
