All right. It came back up again.. There was about 30 minutes down.. I won't complain it since it didn't affect on my open positions. LOL
All right. It came back up again.. There was about 30 minutes down.. I won't complain it since it didn't affect on my open positions. LOL At the end of the day, the wrong timezone setting on the server caused quotes to end as the server thought trading had finished. A reboot was required in order for trading to continue to the normal closing time. If I may, I would like to mention that over the weekend, bugs shall be squished.

How about current US clients with account balance? that means they will not accept US clients? How about current US clients with account balance? I believe the following press release will answer your question. Dear FXOpen Clients Due to recent changes in CFTC regulations as a result of the H.R. 4173: Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, FXOpen is unable to offer any form of assistance or advice to citizens of the USA. So many of the good programs I used are now blocked in the US
I'm sure some good brokers would lose their business in the US.
FXOpen reduces commission fees on its ECN accounts.
March 11, 2011. FXOpen, one of the world’s leading FOREX brokerage companies, is pleased to announce that it will reduce commission fees on ECN accounts. The change takes effect on March 14, 2011. In pursuit of its mission FXOpen has always taken strides to provide the most convenient, fair and professional trading conditions. Dear Clients
Due to a malicious DDOS attack against our websites, the MYFXOpen Area may be unavailable or produce an error when attempting to log in. Our IT department is working hard on a solution and we hope to restore full functionality in the MYFXOpen Area as soon as possible. MT4 trading is unaffected by this outage.
FXOpen under massive DDOS attack
FXOpen is currently experiencing the largest DDOS attack in the company's history which has seriously affected website operations. We fully realise how much of an inconvenience this is. FXOpen's website is attacked on average 4-5 times a month and for the last few years, the attacks have not affected us until this latest attack of unprecedented scale. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through the solutions and install additional redundancy to protect against future attacks such as this one. Jafar Calley FXOpen Client Relations The real losers in this though are the American investors. Their choice has become limited to just a few government approved brokerages. Agreed. They are trying to keep all the US investment dollars on-shore where it is easier to trace and tax, otherwise some arrangement where offshore brokers agreed to US regulation with regard to US clients would have sufficed.
A quick question for you, Jafar. I think I know the answer but am looking to verify.
If an offshore company owned by a US person wants an account with you, is that possible? (i.e. XY IBC whose principle trader is a US citizen) Also, I understand that FXOpen offers ECN trading direct to the market, true? Thanks. A quick question for you, Jafar. (i.e. XY IBC whose principle trader is a US citizen) Also, I understand that FXOpen offers ECN trading direct to the market, true? Thanks. Since the CFTC complaint is about US residents opening accounts, I don't see any reason why a non US company should be restricted from opening a corporate account with us. Yes, we do offer ECN with direct market access (though orders less than 1.00 standard lot are routed via STP), but be aware we also offer fixed spread, no commission Market Maker accounts so be sure to download the correct MT4 version. Since we are under massive DDOS I have uploaded the setup files to my personal site. http://www.rebatefx.com/fx4setup_ECN.
Since late last week, FXOpen has been under attack by the biggest DDOS (Distributed Denial Of Service) attack seen in the company’s history.
The attack that originates in Russia, but uses botnets from around the world is currently abusing the websites with over 100million connections per day and rising. No web server can handle that much information without interruptions and despite having the best DDOS protection in a large server cluster, FXOpen’s websites are currently inaccessible however, trading via the MT4 terminal is completely unaffected. On Friday, I spoke to the “hacker” who goes by the name of Ivan Ivanov of Khabarovsk, Russia and he demanded $5,000 to stop the attack. His demand has since risen to $15,000. The attack was ordered by FXOpen’s Russian competitors (according to Ivanov). This kind of criminal activity highlights the need for vigilance when dealing with Russian Forex companies who may also be involved in money laundering, mafia and terrorism. FXOpen’s IT team is working around the clock to find a solution and we hope some website functionality will return soon.

FXOpen MT4 servers are rock solid. they cannot be DDOSed like the web page servers so thankfully, trading is unaffected. I don't think the attack will last much longer. DDOS Update: FXOpen Wins!
I'm quite pleased to say that despite the attack continuing and getting even stronger, FXOpen's web servers continue to operate uninterrupted by any and all attacks against them. FXOpen's IT department worked round the clock while the attack of last week was in progress. The result is that FXOpen's web servers are now stronger than ever, able to withstand enormous attacks. Thanks to all those who showed great patience while FXOpen's IT went to war with the hackers!
Dear Clients.
We are currently experiencing a large DDOS attack on our web servers. As usual, normal trading via our MT4 servers is unaffected. Our IT department is working on the problem and we should resume normal service within 2 hours. Thank you for your patience.
Good news! After only a couple of hours, FXOpen's IT department have successfully defeated the latest DDOS attack against the company.
All webpage functions have been fully restored and the website is running normally despite the attack continuing unabated. Preparations made after the last attack made sure that this attack resulted in minimal disruption to our services. Thank you for choosing FXOpen as your reliable trading partner.

A New Useful Feature - Margin Calculator
FXOpen presents Margin Calculator - a new easy-to-handle tool for traders. May 14, 2011. FXOpen, one of the world’s leading FOREX brokerage companies, is launching a new feature – Margin Calculator - for a fast and easy calculation of pip and margin value. In pursuit of a trader-oriented approach FXOpen continues upgrading and improving its trading conditions. A new Margin Calculator is a complex feature, which significantly simplifies and automates margin and pip value calculations. It provides traders with more accurate and visual information that can help them optimize their money management strategies. Both newbies and professional traders will appreciate its friendly and easy-to–use interface. Margin Calculation is an updated tool that allows a trader to determine the required margin and cost of one pip for each currency pair as well as tune the optimal leverage, balance and lot size before opening a trade. A trader only needs to enter the leverage, the volume and the estimated balance. The value of one pip and the value of Margin for each currency pair will be recalculated and updated according to the real-time market prices. Margin Calculator is available in two variants: both on the company’s website in the Trading Terms section , (available for all traders, including those who do not have a live account with FXOpen yet) and in the My FXOpen trader’s personal back-office area (available for the company’s clients who have a live account with FXOpen). To calculate Margin in the Trading Terms section a trader needs to select the leverage, volume size (lot) and the estimated balance. In My FXOpen area Margin can be calculated for any volume based on the leverage and the current balance (equity) of the client’s account. i have a personal question for you.
I've been trading with fxopen ECN platform but didn't do well... so I transferred a remaining small balance to micro account and I keep trading with it now.. A few weeks ago, I remembered that fxopen announced that an trading environment of ECN platform has been improved and can trade with less spread. And I did a demo test and it seems like a bit stable now.. So I'd like to give it a try again... And here's my question. The minimum deposit for a new ECN account is $1000 USD. But since I've already set up one and used to trade that ECN account is it possible to deposit maybe $200-300 and still keep 500:1 leverage? I know before they reduced a leverage to 100:1 if the balance drops below $1000.. Please let me know.. Thanks. ![]() Asia's Drift Champion 2009/2010 Tengku Djan Ley, Prince of Drift, renews contract with FXOpen for 2011-2012. May 20, 2011. FXOpen, one of the world’s leading FOREX brokerage companies, is pleased to announce that FXOpen has renewed their contract with Tengku Djan Ley, the Prince of Drift and Asia's Drift Champion for the years 2011-2012. FXOpen is glad to be working with such a professional person like Tengku Djan Ley. He has represented the Company in major Drift competitions and has made the FXOpen Drift Series team popular on the local drifting scene. Tengku Djan Ley has constantly displayed extensive experience, outstanding car-handling abilities and at all times proved to be the most consistent driver. FXOpen has always backed active youth in many endeavours and supported their sports activities helping to develop praise-worthy and valuable character traits. The Company has enthusiastically sponsored drifting. It appealed to FXOpen because of its similarity with the essence of the company’s business. Drifting, the most favourite motorsport in the region, demands highly developed skills, quick analysis and response to an ever-changing environment. These same qualities are the basis for success in trading. Moreover, drifting fosters a strong will and courage - the qualities useful for future success in any activity. “I’m honoured to have FXOpen as my sponsor. I hope to continue and improve my performances during competitions. I will show my best performance to please my fans. Hopefully emerging champion once again,” commented Tengku Djan Ley, Prince of Drift Malaysia. "This new contract is a logical continuation of our partnership which is profitable for both parties. We are extremely happy to see Tengku Djan in our team for the new season and we believe that he will proudly represent our company and will show best of him to enjoy the fans," commented Denis Peganov, Development Director with FXOpen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACRghxiIVD8 i have a personal question for you. I know before they reduced a leverage to 100:1 if the balance drops below $1000.. Please let me know.. Thanks. Hi Your leverage will be cut to 1:100 max under $1000 balance. Just be more careful than you would with 1:500 leverage since your margin requirement is higher, a margin call or stop out can come sooner. Also remember that on ECN, pending orders also use up margin. With $200-300 I would trade very carefully and only one trade at a time. But if you ask me, you are better off staying on a micro market maker account until you can build it up. Maybe you could find some extra to deposit to get the ECN above $1000. That would be much better for you. Our ECN spreads are tighter than ever since we introduced more liquidity providers. I've been watching EUR/USD have 0.1-0.6 pip spread all day. Thanks. Hi jjanguda The maximum leverage for an ECN account below $1000 as you know is 1:100 so $200-300 would not be in any way sufficient for trading on the ECN. You need to trade it back or deposit more to bring your deposit back to $1000+ in order to continue with ECN trading.
This just in from FXOpen Finance Dept.

FXOpen receives World Finance’s “Best Forex Broker, Australasia, 2011” award. June 17, 2011. FXOpen, one of the world’s leading FOREX brokerage companies, is pleased to announce that it was awarded “Best Forex Broker, Australasia, 2011” by World Finance magazine. FXOpen is one of the world’s biggest retail forex companies well-known for its trader-oriented innovative technologies. It proved to be the market driver by being the first to introduce Sharia’-compliant accounts, Mini accounts and a MT4 ECN trading platform coupled with 0.1 lot execution and advanced Money Management technology (PAMM accounts). Its efforts to provide the most convenient, fair and professional trading conditions have been repeatedly acknowledged by honourable and reputable awards by independent and respected financial media. The award “Best Forex Broker, Australasia, 2011” by the highly respected World Finance magazine has proved once again FXOpen’s commitment to its mission and solidified our leading position in the FOREX market. The company is expanding aggressively and continues to introduce trader-oriented innovations. It aims to double its local offices within the next two years and to offer its clients many new features and trading solutions. “FXOpen is honoured to receive this meaningful Foreign Exchange award from the highly read and respected World Finance magazine”, commented Denis Peganov, Development Director of FXOpen. “We have always strived to provide the best for our clients and are glad that it’s appreciated by industry insiders as well. For its 2011 awards World Finance has taken the decision not to list nominations for the awards as this naturally means that only those companies already recognised by the panel would be eligible to win. The panel believes strongly that the awards are at their fairest and most transparent when readers are able to vote for any company that they believe deserves the accolade, rather than handing them out to the same old blue chips every year - a criticism that has rightly been levelled at other high profile financial awards, where the same handful of teams seems to scoop the award every year.
