I must have been off the field for a long, long time then. Is there any alternatives in today's market? Most sites look phishy..

If you think most sites look fishy you haven't done your research. The few debit cards available now have gotten better than before.

GCard went down with the rest of the NYCCU ship..

What is a reliable card in the meantime?

People are struggling to find one from what I can gather due to the volatility of E-Gold.
