I have searched the site and they tell me I need one... does it get sent in the mail? I am looking to exchange some egold and the exchangers site say I must have a cryptocard... I know it is $99, but that is more than I want to exchange at the moment. How can I buy one when I am trying to fund my account.

If some of you learned people could steer me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

The cryptocard is a physical gizmo that they send you in the mail and it makes your account more secure. You don't absolutely need one. I've been using EBullion for a while without one and I've never had any problems. But if a particular exchanger requires that you have one, that's something else. Maybe find another one.

Thanks for your advice ether93. I appreciate it.

I have found another exchanger, but they are really slow... still waiting.. since Wednesday blush.gif

An exchanger is required to hold any e-Bullion that you exchange through them for 48 hours unless you are a cryptocard holder. You get it through the e-Bullion site.

If your account was compromised e-Bullion will lock up your account until you get one.

Log into your e-Bullion account. Look for directions there.
Youy do not need an exhanger to get e-Bullion. You can get it directly through them.

I ended up getting the exhange through, but I spent it before I purchased a card... now waiting on my next exchange, so I will look into it then.

$100 must be good... I wonder how long it takes to get to Australia?

I have the cryptocard and well, it is indeed secure, but in my opinion is very stupid thing the cryptocard makers came up with. Exactly the same security can be accomplished with the piece of software that doesn't need a change of battery...
The "gizmo" can be lost, sunk, squeezed et.c. so, it is not practical really.
The way it works is that once you got it in a mail and activated it, you just type in your account number at login, leaving the password field empty (doesn't matter even if you type whatever in there). On the next screen you'll be given a string of numbers, which you have to punch into the "gizmo". Gizmo then will display back a new string of numbers and letters, which you have to punch in back into the website to login. Do that quick, as gizmo tends to shut off rather quickly and you'll have to turn it on by pressing a bunch of buttons again.

I agree the cryptocard is a stupid thing. I tried your way as the instructions I was given to enter PIN number first does not work. Your way did not work either. I activated mine and now it will not work according to instructions to log me in. Not I can't get into my account and very sorry I purchased this stupid gizmo. Emailed ebullion twice and no response. Called them during business hours and received a recording to call during business hours. What crappy customer service. Don't purchase this stupid cryptocard.
