Hi, while searching on the SE to check for info. on POSB details for accepting paypal payment, I stumbled upon this forum and found a relevant thread. I couldn't find exactly where the thread now... someone asked abt. details of POSB but had received no answer yet.

I called the bank and here's the answer :
To accept payment from paypal, they need you to give them bank info.

For POSB or DBS, the info you need as follows:
Bank Name : DBS Bank (same even if yours is POSB)
Institution code : 7171
Branch code : 081 (well, not sure if this varies, call hotline to double check)

Institution code is not the same as SWIFT code... however, should you need the SWIFT code for POSB or DBS for other transactions, it's DBSSSGSG

hope you find this info useful.

Hi,

Wishing everyone a Happy Lunar New Year, Gong Xi Fai Cai.

I had juz added my bank account to Paypal.

Am concern if the name matters, that is PayPal name needs to match with the bank account name.

oh yes, if the name is incomplete, the transfer will be cancelled and you incur costs.....to overcome that, very simple, your paypal first name field is your western name, then your family name field, please put in your entire (all 3 words for most) dialect name....if no western name, then just use your surname and the latter your remaining dialect names.....whatever it is, just follow your bank account name order.....
