Hi all, been a while. Just a quick question, I see the current highest paying savings accounts at the top of this page but I'm wondering if anyone has advice on which is the safest/most secure. I want to open an acct for my 1 year old daughter. Yup, Molly turned one on April 12th, man does time fly!

Thanks!

Christine

ps. Hope everyone is doing well and making lots of money wink.gif

Hi,

If you are still looking, HSBC has one of the best offer around and is a major bank, TOTALLY SECURE. I bank with them since i moved to hongkong in 2001 and could not be happier. For those of you who can put in a minimum of 20k, they have a great deal offshore at 5.22% for premier customer (5.5% for GBP!!). Sometimes they have special offers, I currently have my money there a 6%!!! Check it out:

MY PERSONAL OFFER TO YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER:

If you decide to join HSBC, pls. do it through me, I will refer you and then give you USD50 out of my commission.

Thanks.

Sorry to ask this but where do you want the account to be at? Perhaps with a location and an initial amount, I would be able to help recommend a good bank for yourself.

If you're still looking for an account then I would very strongly recommend ING Direct. They're an online-only bank, so you have to feel comfortable with that. But the interest is great. They have a checking account that pays 4%, a savings account that pays 4.5%, and CDs that pay about 5%. They're customer service is outstanding too.

If you send me a PM I can give you a referral link, and if you sign up through that link they'll give you $25!

If you are in USA, and you have enough for their minimums, I would open an account for her with Vanguard.
They have many investment options.
