Hi Default User,

Several years ago I got pneumonia myself from complications from a Flu. For the first while I'd only be able to stay up for short periods of time, however as it progressed eventually I could barely make it out of bed long enough to goto the bathroom and back.

First, don't lay on your back- lay on your side as much as possible. As you sleep excess mucus may drip down the back of your throat and find it's way into your lungs with the rest of the bad stuff down there.

If you take Nyquil it will help you forget your sick for a few minutes. Don't let it fool you, it doesn't last long and as soon as it does you're back in a horizontal position almost immediately.

Make sure to eat and take vitamin supplements if possible. As was my case, when we get that sick our appetite pretty much disappears and you may start becoming malnurished.

Another thing I'd make sure to do is keep in touch with your doctor. Don't just assume it'll go away so long as you take your medicine. In my case I ended up having pneumonia for over a month and finally had to spend several days in the hospital getting regular albuterol treatments.

It might've just been a bad year or whatever when I had it, but don't take any chances. At the same time I got the flu and later pneumonia one of my highschool classmates did as well. The day that I came back to school after finally getting better the principal announced over the school PA system that she'd died from her illness.

Take care of yourself, dude.

I had it about three years ago, went to bed on Christmas day and got up 5th January, lost 3 stone in weight. I get a chest infection once a year, which stops me smoking and I think, right this is it, still smoking unfortunately.

I quit smokin cigarettes a very long time ago but it was one of the hardest things to do ever. It took me quite a few tries too before I did actually quit.

so how ru now? all ok already? smile.gif
if not, i really do suggest that u get your ass in the hospital before something untowards happens...how old are you anyway? because pneumonia acts differently in different age groups...

Well, maybe he's waiting for the next president to enforce Universal Health Care. j/k.

Hope you get well! Take care of yourself!

Just came across this as well...

To save you some time on reading, it basically just states how 20% of U.S. spending will go towards health care in the year 2016. OUCH!
