You're welcome cake.

I thought it appropriate that I should pass on my thoughts on the current e-gold concerns to members.

There appears to be little doubt that the e-gold accounts of both 'Ice Gold', and '1mdc' have been frozen, possibly along with the 'London Bullion Exchange', and others.

While I doubt if this is going to present a problem in the long term, it may be disruptive in the short term for many programs, fortunately for us, I don't see us currently having any problems at all, at this stage.

Ice Gold has been my preferred exchanger for years, great service and very low fees, I doubt that the present situation with Ice Gold will remain, I can however see that greater transparency is going to be essential when exchanging, or even in our everyday dealings with e-gold. I am really not sure that this is such a bad thing.

I will be looking to other funding solutions as a back up, but, I am really not very impressed by many currently on offer, some of them seem to be to suffer from the same lack of money transmission licenses, as EMO, stormpay etc. Making them just as open to U.S. govt intervention.

Without really knowing what the outcome of the current situation will be, I refuse to speculate any further at this stage, preferring to see what Monday brings.
As I see it now, the worst case may be the need to introduce a small withdrawal fee, in order to cover the use of more expensive processors.

Meanwhile relax a little, and we will see what we shall see.

Pete

I truly think e-gold will come out the other side as a system of e-currency that inspires some confidence in all members of all programs.

I am going to urge all our members to be very diligent with the account information that you have supplied e-gold, that AccScent info in your account may very well be put to the test at some future date, and I suggest that you make sure it is correct before that day ever arrives.

E-gold are a lot stricter now than a lot of people realise, and if greater disclosure is called for (and it almost certainly will be), then you need to make sure that you are following their requirements to the letter.

If and when all the present fuss blows over, we should have a much clearer idea of what we can expect, and what is expected of us.

What do you mean stricter lol.. E-gold is a real pain in the ass if you want access back to your account, they call you, send a passphrase by snail mail AND need a photocopy of ID. (Trust me, been there)

hi pete..

could u pls check out the aussiedebitcard.com site ..
it might be a good alternative for payout since u dont need to exchange money into egold or ebullion if the card is good and reliable..
but only prob for international member is that they cant have more than $1000 in the card without the s21 form..

ive taken this from FAQ

Q: What is the S21 form (Reference by an Acceptable Referee)?

A: A form that should be filled out and sent to the address listed to provide valid authentication details of the card holder. The form is not required when you order a card, but needs to be submitted if you are planning to deposit more then $1000 onto your card.

another way to go around it for international member who wanted to load more than $1000 is by having multiple cards..
anyway ive just sent an email to them to ask how international member can identify themselves..
so lets see what their answers is..

Just thought I would report in on the Aussie debit card:

I ordered the Aussie debit card over the weekend, it arrived on Wednesday, brilliant service.

I have loaded the card from e-gold, and will confirm tomorrow, by all accounts this looks like the answer to all of our prayers, Aussies can contact them with a 1800 number
members can have me contact them on their behalf, simply by asking.

The card appears to be able to be cashed out via any Cirrus/Maestro ATMs, or in Australia, used freely for EFTPOS transactions.

The catch is, if the card balance exceeds $1000.00 Au, verification is required, the card comes with all the necessary paperwork for verification. This kind of verification is the future whether we like it or not. The great thing from my point of view is card to card transfers of funds, this makes every bodies life easy.

Once I have convinced myself, that this card is all it 's meant to be, I will open a merchant account, and the 10% commission will go into our reserve, feel free to use that facility if you wish. Currently the card costs $49.95 Au postage included, various delivery options are available internationally at varied costs.

On Goldex, I did an e-gold transfer on the weekend, and cashed it at my local ATM, 3 working days later, this too is a promising system.

More later.

That sounds great Pete and as soon as you get your merchant account set up i will order a card through you.

I have been looking for a good card for a while, i have a eForexGold card that i can use to order e-gold from the post office which is very handy and this will complete the package.

I used this before to fund my ebullion account.

thebullionexchange.com

but it's down for now and this is what appears in their website when I opened it seconds ago...

"Due to circumstances beyond our control,
The Bullion Exchange web site will be temporarily down.
It is anticipated the site will reopen as soon as matters are resolved.
If you have placed, or requested a purchase,
your transaction will be completed
as rapidly as possible.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and patronage."

Hope this helps. sorry if not.

@Kudabelang, to spend via e-bullion, (when they have their site sorted out), email me for the BTD account number.

If you have e-gold, it may as well be earning you money, when we come out the other side of this, it will be worthwhile.

I have a small activation problem with my Aussiedebitcard, not their fault, the result of my ten thumbs, I will try to contact them tomorrow, and I will ask support a number of questions, I don't want to recommend anything that I am not sure of, as you can understand.

During these last days I have been as open as I can about e-gold and the situation in general, I really want to keep it that way, I don't want to speculate there is already too much of that on this and other forums. I have heard that by next week a resolution should be reached, but I refuse to speculate on that as it is only an opinion.

I did a small withdrawal via goldex, (500.00), and that went smoothly, I have emailed them asking what their stance is at the moment, and as soon as I get anything I will share it with you.

I thought I should let the members know that as we are involved with commerce it is important to our customers that we can be depended upon to maintain a reliable service.

In order to keep the wheels of commerce turning while out exchanges are slower than usual, I have just transferred a large amount from my personal bank account to one of our clients, and I will do the same to another tomorrow, this should make every member aware of my level of confidence.

Another client got a decent out exchange from omnipay late last week, and I have managed 2 successful out exchanges from goldex, these have been small, $500, and $1000
as the goldex fees are reasonably high(5%) Both of my out exchanges have been as fast, or faster than normal, the most recent one in 24hrs.

Thanks for your confidence in our modest little program Kudabelang, and to Ninong yep I have read that article, and I am keeping my options open about e-gold, but in the short term I have no real concerns.

As time goes by other options will open up, but, unless they have my absolute confidence, I won't introduce them.

I am really a bit disappointed with "aussiedebitcard" at the moment, as my experiences with their support department leave a lot to be desired, waiting 3 business days (5 days in total) for a returned telephone call is from my point of view poor service.

Good morning members. I just thought I would tell you my experience with aussiedebitcard so far.

Last night my time: 10:23pm I funded my card through eforexgold. Received the confirmation email immediately as usual. They say allow 24 to 48 hours, but in the past depending on the time of day I have been card funded by them well withing 24 hours. But to my surprise, when I got up this morning there is an email sent to me at 11:21 pm stating "Debit Card Funded". So I immediately checked my online debit card account, yes it is there. So what was that two minutes short of an hour. w00t2.gif

Needless to say, I am off to town today, LOL to withdraw the cash.. then I might even go and do my shopping for some nice steak!!

I will let you know as soon as I can about the ATM transaction.

However I am not sure about the support desk, I have only contacted them by email twice and been answered very promptly. But my questions were answered fairly fast.

Couldn't wait. I have just been to the ATM, wow.... so easy... put the card in, pulled the dollars out. yahoo.gif yahoo.gif I now have my donation money... plus a bit for a steak on Friday night at the bowls club.

Also, a big thanks to Pete who made this possible. THANKS PETE!
