In thinking about this further, Dorky, you never know. Perhaps Pete would rather you had his share too!?! Just food for thought... smile.gif

QUOTE
Hi members,
This going to be short and to the point, as I have, really not too much information.

Yesterday I went to Brisbane, and saw a specialist, I do indeed have Ross River Fever, but with some complications, I gave so much blood yesterday, that I don't think I have much left.

I am waiting for my daughter to drive me to hospital, where they are going to treat me for fluid retention, hence the swelling, and the headaches.
While I am there I will have an ultrasound, as I have a heart murmur.

By Tuesday all being well I will be home, and able to manage the virus, I have not been able to take any medication until today, due to the tests,
Please just relax until I get back home, Monday evening, this is the first time that I have had a chance to communicate, as I stayed overnight in Brisbane, and only returned at midday.

Pete

Zed if you read Pete's last post properly you will see the bit i have highlighted that he clearly states that he would not be home until Tuesday if all went well so i think it would be best if you took a chill pill and gave Pete a break!

You hit the nail on the head HaleBopp, Pete has always been upfront and never left the members in the dark so as soon as he is able i'm sure he will update us on his condition.

Having during my life had some hospital stays, here in Queensland, possibly is the same anywhere, but you can never predict when they will let you out. You certainly don't check yourself out because if you need them if you are sick again... well you can summize.

Assuming Pete is still in hospital, it is the best place for him. They won't let him out until he is well enough to cope.

So having said that, don't panic guys, Pete is Pete. Yes, as we know him, upfront and direct. Definately not a "Houdini"

Relax and have a beer... I don't think Pete will mind if you have one for him...

News from Mrs.Pete

I have just been contacted by Mrs.Pete by email as Pete wanted to pass on the relevant information.

As Pete told us, his wife was driving back from Victoria. Well after 5 days driving she arrived home today. Having been away for three weeks she hadn't seen Pete since she left. Mrs. Pete told me Pete is currently in a private hospital, and has lost about 10 kilos in weight, possible due to the lasix drip that they have had on him in order to lower his fluid retention. He is also fighting the RRV infection. (I assume that is the Ross River Virus)

Remember when Pete took a dive off his chair, well he made light of this with his family as well as all of us. Well it appears more notice should have been taken with that incident, as this appears to be part of his heart problem.

Mrs. Pete hasn't been able to talk to the doctors yet, but she has a meeting scheduled tomorrow.

Now we all know that Pete is a tough old devil (this is what even Mrs. Pete said) He needs his rest and treatment to get well.

I told Mrs. Pete to tell Pete not to worry, we are all mature members here and we will look after the thread.

Plus I will pass on any relevant information to this thread when I get it.

Zed, I was contacted through the programs email. It is your decision if you ask, but I really think that Mrs. Pete has enough on her plate at the moment. She was working on instructions given by Pete to pass on the relevant information to us. She has just completed 5 days of driving to get home. At the moment she is probably as worried as heck about Pete, as we all are, but she is his wife.

Come On guys... Pete is in hospital very sick with Ross River Fever at the moment, I certainly don't think he is running anywhere. Things happen in life that we have absolutely no control over. We must be patient. I know that if I was that sick, the last thing I would be thinking of would be the internet. He is a real person, just like we all are. Please be tolerant. Just try to put yourself in Pete's shoes.... think about it.

hospital, I can't imagine he'd be pleased to see you. Keep

Thanks for the update, Dorky. It is indeed sad to hear just how "down under the weather" Pete is. I hope for his speedy recovery.

As for the program, let's keep things in perspective, folks. First Pete gets better, then the program gets straightened out. Can't get things worked out without our Admin back to health. No amount of PM's, emails, or "visits" is going to speed that up.

Yes my best friend Dorky, I only drink a bottle of what we called here the 'BILOG' one ( the round bottle at the farthest right at the picture of my last post), in one session,
and have something heavy for my stomach to eat at the same time,
more than a bottle would really be Lethal for anyone, becoz it's a 320ml 80 proof liquor per bottle.
anyway I always drink it with cold water in a glass with few drops of lemons. again, with some heavy delicious cooked meat.

Hi Linda wave.gif blush.gif

It wasn't me..... ok, I can't tell lies.. I have been well and truly sprung. I didn't know that you still hang around the forum these days... great to see you though.

I really have been behaving and not drinking too much.. but you know how it is, don't you. A few of us come here to this thread and let our hair down occassionally. (thought: I wish I still had some to let down!) Well you know what I mean. Don't you?

After reading CrazyNo s comment, I did have to got back to see if she was carrying those beers or they we on a tray. I didn't even take any notice in the beginning. I was only stating the truth..

Haveing made my "not so acceptable comment" I wish to apologize to anyone I may have offended. Can I be forgiven.

Seriously please Dorky, is that girl carrying all those beers just in her hands,

Good morning again ninong.
eager to learn
Hello from the Breakers professional drug dealer.
I have no experience with the virus your infected with. But I do have a few ideas for you to throw at your doctor.
There are several good antiviral meds. Are you on one?
For the pain ask the Dr. about Gabapentin or Lyrica. They are for nerve pain. They often help in viral infections when regular pain killers are ineffective. Also if its surface pain sometimes Lidocane ointment or patch can be quite helpful. Its a numbing agent. If its numb it dosen't hurt as bad.

Since I don't know any details these are flat out guesses on my part and are meant to just give the Dr. something to consider. Hope it helps.

After you feel better I would like to jump back in. But I can wait. Get well
