I ve been hacked in 4 days ago and recently yesterday. Total $2700. I think hacker is same person. How to stop these beggers ? I feel very bad in last year and new year.

I mentioned before that those hackers love to lurk in IRC, selling or trading, exploits for e-gold, paypal... etc. Unfortunately I dont see an effective way to stop them. All you can do is change your passphrase frecuently and activate the highest security options in your e-gold account.

Also, i advice you do not keep the money in one egold account. This is the best security i think. If you account get hacked you will not loose all.

There is a way to stop hackers! There is only a few ways they can get to you. Most of these ways are from remote access due to trojans or the automation system built into egold, you must disable that and fdisk your computer to be sure no trojans are on it then make sure you do not open any emails that are bogus because thats how they get in with the trojan!

Also be sure to use netscape and nothing else. It has the best encryption. People say use firefox but that browser doesnt impress me at all! Netscape mozilla has been top since back day 1, never seen a firefox then!

Stop using windows for starters, at least for your sensitive financial operations. It's a breeding ground for all sorts of nasties in the form of trojans, backdoors, and keyloggers. It seems a decent firewall and antispy/antivirus just isn't good enough these days.

thats a good idea, when I used to run slackware back in the 90s it was all text based with the lynx browser and wow I was on a cyrix 200 and it was smoking fast! I guess the new gui are more user friendly nowadays. The installations back in those days were all manual and no wizards. Although if your smart with windows you will not get burned as I run windows and have only been hacked due to my own negligence. Windows can be secured enough as long as the user running it is smart and proficient!

The only ways you can get your money stolen is by getting infected with a keylogger or virus that steals your egold login info and sends it to someone else, or if you enter your egold login info into an egold phishing website that looks like the egold site but is fake.

A good start is to use http://www.roboform.com so you cant get caught by keyloggers. If youre using windows, make sure you have antivirus, firewall, and antispyware installed. A good all in one solution is here: http://www.windowsonecare.com/

THe hackers are using the browser session to hack your e-golds. They use your IP basically.
The only one way to protect yourself is to install Firewall - ZoneLabs - Zonealarm and Anti-virus Kaspersky - and to enabled all protections on the higest level.
It won't allow the virus or whatever it's to pass and be installed in your PC or browser. You must also use Mozilla browser which is better than internet explorer.

ok you have the not so famous IE e-gold hack. It had me for $2 (all the e-gold currently in my account then) and i didn't bother searching for it i just switched to firefox and no more! Its just a automatic pre programmed robot that once u logged into e-gold sends your money to a account.

If it still persists its better to Format ur hard drive at the C part of it and thne switch to firefox

I am sorry to say. firefox will not help you against key loggers and other trojans. you need to do all the security stuff or you will be hacked again and again.
indeed most hackers get into your computer from the opera and I wrote earlier what to do about it in the computer section.

the truth is that jackson, e-gold manager, let the hackers steal the money from the admins.
how?
they tell admin they can set the software to be more protected, but most admins
understand very little on security setting... why e-gold do not do it by default?
I received some attacks only because some folks decided that I am courtney and finix and
God knows who else. But I learn this subject every day from admins I chat with.
so I know what I am talking about. why e-gld do that? ask them.
if hackers steal money from member who have only 40 dollars, imagine how challenging it is
to steal 40,000 from admin.
