To All my MMG friends, and Fiends, all round 2006 has been a vey ordinary year for most of us playas.
I know that I ended up almost exactly where I was this time last year, so I made some, lost some ad infinitum.
My wish for all members is that 2007 will be a more profitable year, this time next year we will be sitting in front of our new computers congratulating each other.
Things must change, we must get smarter, and a little less greedy, let's hope that the lessons of 2006, have been learned well.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, and a prosperous New Year to all.

Personally I don't think it had been a crappy year, You only have to look at it positively. No doubt there was a lot of scammers especially in December. Also the fall of the mighty two (no need to mention them, everyone I'm sure knows which ones). To me it has been exciting, with all the drama, of whether you'll get paid or not, whether the admin will come back?, Is admin telling the truth?. The tension, the suspense, the uncertainty. These things makes it interesting to turn on the computer, and watch developments and the creative way that admins come up with excuses why they have to close.
I'm sure those who lost money, have learnt their lesson.
Lessons I've learnt and should do are as follows: 1. Keep some of the profits made and not reinvest 100%. 2. An honest admin is an oxymoron. There is no such thing as an honest admin, every HYIP and autosurf will eventually close. 3. Don't be tempted to invest in every new HYIP or autosurf. Watch first and see how it goes. 4. Easy come, easy go (money that is).
A last word to everyone, though you may have lost, don't let the scammers spoil your year. Wealth is nice but value more the two irreplaceable things you have, your health and family. Money, you can always find new sources, but family and health is hard to replace.
I wish all of you a Merry Christmas (eventhough I do not celebrate christmas)

There is wisdom in your post, however, this year we have taken major hits from a payment processor, and frankly I don't think that is the last one you will see.
2004, I made enormous money.
2005, I did well too (not as well)
2006, If I was lucky I broke even over the year, ( I say this because I have not finished calculating m cashouts yet)
2007, I don't know about you, but I am going to look for stability.

Things go in three's, so if things are in order, we should be back in money this year (2007) Stability is going to be one of the things I look for this year. Not the flashiest thing, not the best looking thing on the outside, but the deep, good structural feel of things. I am in hopes a program emerges that will fill that bill.
Anyway, Happy Holidays everyone!!

Incorrect. Honesty has nothing to do with whether a program closes or not. No matter what anyone says, StudioTraffic was the most honest program I have ever seen. PIN, TGT, and numerous others paid out hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars. A lot of honest people would have been tempted to steal it all, so its easy to think any scamming admin would have run much sooner.
Dont say an admin is dishonest just because a program closes, because that is certainly not true.

I would say that a lot of admins start programs with honourable intentions. But once the programs get a little too big for their business plans, they reach a "Point of Scam" when the excuses start and TOS start changing dramatically to try to keep pace with the plunge. So the admins who start off as trusted and honest (and sometimes as respected members of MMG) start to see that it is going to go pear-shaped and become dishonest.
Studio Traffic was definitely not a scam to begin with and lasted two years before they reached their Point of Scam. That came for me in October 05 when they started talking about Global Advertising Campaigns and the breakthrough into the Chinese markets, then they began to ban people from surfing until they signed up for conference calls.
This prolonged agony always puzzled me. Perhaps having built up a good fanbase and a solid reputation for 2 years, John Horan thought he could drag it out and get some of his fans to pump in extra funds he could walk off with. I don't think anybody called John Horan an honest admin - he was either God or the Devil, depending on your viewpoint.
Looking at 12by12 Daily I'm pretty sure Dave Cannard did not start off as a scammer in DadnDaves. He was held in great respect at that time. When the StormPay fiasco wiped out a lot in February Dave tried to keep going and he kept everybody's sympathy. It is hard to say but perhaps the StormPay saga was the Point of Scam - maybe all he wanted to do was make up the funds he had lost because of Stormpay, and when DadnDaves started to struggle he introduced 12by12 Daily possibly with full intentions of running once he had made up his losses. There seem to be a few things which don't add up in the 12by12 story which make me suspicious.
Anyway it's all pure speculation because we don't know anything but I would suggest that there are 3 categories -
1) Honest, 2)Scammers, 3)Honest men who become scammers.

It's all just a roulette table now. There's no such thing as strategies, or DD, or even gut instinct... it's just one big gamble.
Out of the hundreds and hundreds, maybe a few rise above the rest, and the ones who happen to get in early are just the lucky gamblers because they had the money and took a chance... a gamble.
Who would've been able to predict that Savingseason or Raininggold would've been the next big hyip's? No one, that's who.
Who would've been able to predict that 12x12instant would've been the next big thing? How many people were turned off by 12x12instant at first by the name alone? *Raises hand*
Most progs that become big are usually too late to join at that point, because they usually fail right when they get big and everyone starts to jump onboard.
That's not investing, that's just gambling, and it's based purely on luck to the ones who get in early and get in profit before it starts to catch on.

This year as a whole in this crazy game, has been somewhat up and down. LOL
You win some you lose some. That is the nature of the beast. I find my timing is always a bit off. Just been proven with a can't go wrong on a program paying 180% for 30 days. Will see if I get payment, not being too hopefull though. I usually don't get stung too hard, but I have to move on.
As the year closes for me, i am actually on a high, a program I joined in desperation while I was watching the other pack of cards fall, has given me new hope. Who knows how long it will last, but all the stats and new membership are skyrocketing. I think, only think time will tell, I may have joined the biggest program of all time. But the risk is minimised, so happily I will end this year on a high.
Can't wait for 2007, what excitement reigns the industry. Something out of left wing no doubt.
Happy New Year to All

Well Pete, here it is a year later.... Stability... I would have loved to have posted here that I had a bonza year.. but truth be known, six months ago I was riding on a high... I had dug myself into a big hole and owed mega dollars to 12by12Daily members who had offered to get me over the line with the 50/50 rule forced on us by Dave Cannard. (I am now aware of the outside forces that ensued his decision, but I am not going there) Then came a unique program "12by12instant". First, and best so far may I add, of the instant sites. I built up the courage and embarked on what I believed to be a great way to pay back the big guys that I owed. I am a man of my word and I said I would pay them back... well it became almost impossible. But I was offered another loan, short term, this could have been the fix. I was talking to the admin and he assured me it was OK, so all I needed was one cycle and I could pay that loan back and start serving the original loan to others. Well three days after I put the upgrade in, outsiders who hate these programs tore the program down. No matter what the admin did... they destroyed him. He had a vision, of which I still to this day believe it could have worked.. but it is all history now.
Then Pete, you came along with your program... stability... so I checked you out of course... but I already had seen you all over the internet. I actually had gotten to know you.. I went with your program eyes fully open, as a way to service my debts. I did get there mostly... but at a huge personal loss. Then you dissappeared. I believe you to be very ill, and I won't speak badly of you ever. I am honored to have known you. I have tried to find you through emails and other contacts.. but it seems you have simply disappeared. I didn't really know Sally, but being your wife I assumed she had the same values as you, and when she said she would get back to me, I believed that she would.
I feel I will never hear from you, or your wife Sally. It is a real shame that there is no definate closure. In my heart I feel that you must have left this internet world and this human world as well. I offer my condolences to your friends and family. But I may see you in the afterlife, if there is such a place as I feel I will join you there soon.
I felt I needed to leave this post in your thread, now nearly a year down the track just as a record of "how things are"
You would have celebrated your 61st birthday on 20th December... I will have a quiet beer for you then.. OK.
Your mate
