Someone must explain this to me... How does E-Gold top Paypal and why? I've noticed that most of the people on this forum use E-Gold instead of Paypal. It got me wondering. Is there a definite reason for this?
Paypal doesn't like to be involved in ponzi's.
e-gold doesn't care about what kind of transaction is going on.
It is very easy to do a chargeback on Pay Pal then it is e-gold. Scammers love doing that. If you talk with alot of people around here, you will find that a large number of them have had people (Primarily scammers) do a chargeback, and Pay Pal did not hold the scammer responsible for the funds, but rather the good guy.
Pay Pal in my opinion is horrible. I really have a problem with them.
Ahh, what are ponzi's? Well see, I do eBay selling and things of that nature so I have to use Paypal... e-Gold doesn't seem to be that popular anyway.

I am waiting for another processor to emerge as a better form over Pay Pal, which I think is out there, it just has not had the opportunities that Pay Pal has had.
Nice. So tell me some good features of E-Gold. What is the ratio of e-gold to American money? Can I redeem it for real money?
e-gold is more popular for people doing online investments... it has little merchant use, at least for what I had seen, very few stores accept e-gold as a payment (online), paypal is more merchant oriented, besides e-gold is a currency, divided in gold, silver... etc. paypal is not, just an alternate method for do and receive payments.
So, basically. E-Gold is like online Gold. But what use is it if it's online?

Since it's based on holdings of real Gold, it's value fluctuates with Gold which at the moment is US$621.15 per ounce. Gold will rise over the next few weeks as the US$ gets bashed on the currency markets
Sooo, is there anyway I can sell my "e-gold" and get a real cash amount. I mean, it's based on real gold value and everyone sells real gold all the time. Is there a way to sell it?
Of Course matter of fact every time the priice of Gold Rises
so does the amount in your account. There are members all the time trying to negoitiate the price of your e-gold. A lot of online merchants prefer e-gold to paypal when conducting business. Pay Pal is very wishy, washy and will freeze your account if they feel paranoid during that day. It is some of merchants biggest nightmare.
Ahhh. So can I buy e-gold? With regular money? Also, where would I redeem my e-gold at?

Can I really? I'm getting pretty interested. But no one still hasn't helped me with where I can redeem the e-Gold at.

You can purchase and sell e-gold in sites which exchange e-gold, like this one http://planetpay.net/index.php and also there are sites where you can purchase ATM debit card loaded by e-gold
paypal = linked to legit businesses
e-gold = ponzi = linked to illegal businesses
So, what you're saying is e-gold is more for the illegal type businesses?!
well ponzis are illegal and all ponzis use e-gold. Its rare to find businesses using e-gold. Only the businesses connected to hyip industry use e-gold.
Whereas all big business use paypal ..from webhosting to clothes to ebay because its for people with nothing to hide so to speak QUOTE(ChrisMono @ Dec 21 2006, 01:00 AM) well ponzis are illegal and all ponzis use e-gold. You are wrong, not only hyip business ptr, domain names, hosting, webdesign and more, many people from asia use e-gold as normal payment procesor QUOTE(Stanislavus @ Dec 21 2006, 12:36 AM) You are wrong, not only hyip business ptr, domain names, hosting, webdesign and more, many people from asia use e-gold as normal payment procesor ptr -> not exactly a million dollar industry like hyip domain and hosting -> ur right but you dont see rackspace or godaddy using e-gold. Its mostly resellers who allow hyips that accept e-gold because they know it will be mostly hyip admins using their services. webdesign -> doris, coolwanz, hummi etc mostly do stuff for hyip admins It is all connected to hyip industry.. I am seeing more businesses use gold though. Paypal is more suited to retail, e-gold is more universal. BTW i didnt know asia prefers e-gold to paypal. that is probably because paypal doesnt accept many asian countries though
As I am understanding this, E-Gold is more of a... stock market type thing? More professional... if you will?
There are rumors that Egold is closing .....
Check out wired news
Wow, forget making an account with them (well I already have but I won't use it).

But, this time look serious.. check this out.. http://www.halturnershow.com/ChinaToDumpUSDollars.html CHINA TO DUMP ONE TRILLION IN U.S. RESERVES!!!! Tells visiting Bush administration officials they will not sit back and lose their shirts as U.S. Dollar collapses; they are getting out fast and large!!!!!! BEIJING, CHINA -- Sources with a U.S. Delegation in Beijing have told The Hal Turner Show the Chinese government has informed visiting Bush Administration officials they intend to dump One TRILLION U.S. Dollars from China's Currency Reserves and convert those funds into Euros, gold and silver! China was allegedly asked to withhold the announcement until Bullion Markets closed for the weekend to prevent an instant spike in gold and silver prices. This delay will give the world the weekend to consider appropriate actions rather than have a knee-jerk reaction which could see the U.S. Dollar totally collapse in value Monday. According to this Senior source, China told the U.S. delegation they no longer have faith in U.S. Currency for several reasons: 1) The Federal Reserve Bank ceased publishing "M3" data in March, making it nearly impossible for anyone to know how much cash is being printed. China said this act made it impossible to tell how much a Dollar is worth. 2) The U.S. Dollar has lost upwards of thirty percent (30%) of its value against other foreign currencies in the recent past, meaning China has lost almost $300 Billion simply by holding U.S. Dollars in its reserves. 3) The U.S. has no plans whatsoever to reduce deficit spending or ability pay down any of its existing debt without printing money to pay it off. For these reasons China has decided to implement an aggressive sell-off of U.S. Dollars before the rest of the world does so. China reportedly told the US delegation; "we are the largest holder of U.S. Currency and if the rest of the world unloads theirs before we unload ours, we will lose our shirts." Early this week, in an unusual move, the Bush administration sent virtually the entire economic "A-team" to visit China for a "strategic economic dialogue" in Beijing Dec. 14 and 15. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke lead the delegation, along with five other cabinet-level officials, including Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. Also in the delegation is Labor Secretary Elaine Chao, Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt, Energy Secretary Sam Bodman, and U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab. The Bush administration wanted to get China's cooperation in preventing a dollar collapse. The Hal Turner Show has been told the effort failed. According to the source, Fed Chairman Bernanke left the meeting "pale and in a cold sweat" as the implications of China's decision seemed to sink in. The implications are enormous: The U.S. Dollar is likely to collapse in value against all other major currencies as early as Monday, December 18. This would cause a worldwide sell-off of dollars, create almost immediate "hyper-inflation" in the US and also impact world markets at a level "worse than the Great Depression of 1929." Arabs to the rescue? In a strange twist of fate, Arabs and OPEC may come to the rescue of the U.S.! Senior officials in OPEC made clear that they too would be severely harmed if the U.S. Dollar collapsed, and hinted they "would not be inclined to sell oil to any particular nation that intentionally caused such a collapse." This was a thinly veiled threat to China, which depends heavily on OPEC oil for its rapidly developing energy needs. The OPEC officials even went so far as to say "Since China lacks the ability to project their military power, OPEC nations need not worry about any Chinese military response to an oil cut-off." Such brutally candid remarks will not sit well with China; and signal ominous things for the U.S. . Arabs and OPEC will want something in return for saving the U.S. from economic collapse and it is already widely speculated what they want will be a complete change in U.S. backing of Israel in the Middle East. If such demands are made by the oil-rich Arabs, the U.S. would be left with little choice but to virtually abandon the jewish state to preserve itself.
Okay, so rumors. I'll wait it out before I began using e-gold.
