Hi Hallo
My computer was infected with a trojan virus today, from a link from someone on msn messenger. I ran AVG Free and the virus went to the vault, which i have deleted and all seems to be running fine now. however, i've had to vault it three times. when I restart, the virus seems to reappear. but my computer is running fine.

but...

there is an icon on my desktop titled winstall. which when scanned doesn't contain a virus, but I have just had a quick scan thru some stuff on the internet and get the idea that its a nasty little program that lets other nasty stuff infect my computer I can't delete it, and in fact, am not sure if this is accurate and am a little worried its an important windows file i shouldnt be deleting at all.

I've now installed Avira Antivir as well, as a double up safety precaution, but no spyware detection programs as yet (I'm not even sure if I'm wording that correctly..)

listen , try to download spybot search & destroy from www.download.com
its a great soft it does the best work for me .
Now , try getting a better av soft (av = anti virus ) then avg it sux , try panda , or avast , or mcafee .
If you got infected im sure at about 99% that this isnt the only trojan you got on ur pc and u probably got some viruses too. do what I said and if ur pc is still running slow and working like **** just format it and reinstall windows. if you want you can catch me at icq 7021607 ill be glad 2 help.

Dont let this damn trojan kill ur pc .. fight him :]

men dont run a free anti virus soft , just download the full one and use a cd key from the net its not hard to get...

to be 100% that u wont have the same virus again use system restore point.. it is usefull for people who surfs a lot of, and can get trojans from pages.

just crreate system restore point and than load it when u see that your computer is slow.
