I've got this on my pc twice in the last week. Cleaned it out with Norton.

Summary

Type Worm

W32/Mytob-K is a mass-mailing worm and backdoor Trojan that targets users of Internet Relay Chat programs.
W32/Mytob-K is capable of spreading through email and through various operating system vulnerabilities such as LSASS (MS04-011).
W32/Mytob-K harvests email addresses from files on the infected computer and from the Windows Address Book.
Side effects

* Turns off anti-virus applications
* Allows others to access the computer
* Modifies data on the computer
* Deletes files off the computer
* Steals information

it's recommended to use a 2nd pc/notebook for online business only with full firewall settings if possible unless ur 1st pc do not serve other purposes such as downloading beta/pirated/crack softwares, etc...

and by the way, this virus is realllllllllllllly dangerous. so be careful and set everything to highest security OR do not surf for a while till the cure is available....

I installed a anti-trojan software ( free) . It cleaned out 74 cookies and 1 dialer from one pc and 1 trojan from another pc. And these were not detected by Norton and Adaware. It's called a-squared. , and you can get it here.

Virus came by 2 popular flavours.

1) Your network services (exploit)

2) Your browser bugs

Since most of us are Streamyx users, it's good to have a firewall/router
device in the middle. Avoid using streamyx dialup (say PPPOE) from your
laptop (if you do, make sure firewall software is installed). This will minimize
the issue with services exploit since most port is close from outside to inside.

For browser bugs, try to set your IE to "Overide automatic cooking handling" and set 3rd party cookie handling to "prompt". I know these is troublesome when we do autosurfing but as soon as a database is accumulated, it is rewarding.
