To: US Treasury Dept. & (G&SR), Inc
Dear Sirs Gold & Silver Reserve (G&SR), Inc has suspended all of Iranian accounts on 24 November 2006 without any notification. we are a group of Iranian people who are working in international markets by e-gold accounts due to lack of reliable Internet banking and high jobless in Iran. we wonder why (G&SR), Inc as a US company is fighting with Iranian people as our government is doing the same ! the tele communication company of Iran who has all the the power of Internet policies in Iran and is a governmental company blocked access to e-gold website about 1 year ago , to cut Iranian communications and businesses with the world, and now (G&SR), Inc is helping them to keep Iranian people isolated from the world. it seems we should tell to our government that they have some partners in US ! we think it is against the announced US policies , blocking the money of Iranian individuals and not to let them work and communicate with the world doesn’t help to expand democracy in Iran and gives Iran government the opportunity to advertise its anti-US policies. we think if US wants to stay popular in Iran should not fight with Iranian people instead of Iran government , blocking the money of Iranian youths doesn’t give them a good feeling about US ! I can say 95% of these account belongs to youths below 25 years old. if you want to do something useful , block the terrorism funds and budget. blocking the accounts of some normal people trying to work and live in this country will not help you.
WE ASK FOR IMMEDIATE ACTIVATION OF OUR ACCOUNTS BY (G&SR), Inc.
Well PayPal also banned some countries form eastern Europe: Romania, Bulgaria etc bec. of high fraud rate. So if E-Gold received many complains ... or second option : They banned Iran because had infos that terrorist use Egold to withdraw money for Guns. Who knows ,a press release from E-gold will be appreciated

Is it because of fraud or terrorists, doesn't matter... They shouldn't ban all Iranians before allowing them to withdraw their money.
btw. Egold is too small for terrorists. And they don't need it.

LOL
Some iranian who can't even write an article in english, got his account suspended, probably. He didn't even came back to reply to his posters.
And you generalize this by saying that "all iranians e-gold accounts get suspended" ROFLMAO

I am talking about the ones here that really believe e-gold banned a country from using their service,
Now is your turn, what are you talking about?[b]

I think it is a little extreme to ban ALL Iran citizens. However, it is an active measure on terrorism, and I would imagine there are alot of terrorist funds moving through E-gold.

Egold really did it. They deleted accounts of all Iranian users before even allowing them to withdraw their money.

Yes I'm also from Iran and I tried to login to my egold account several times and it was blocked. They did not even bother themselves to contact me.
For more info you can visit this thread on Talkgold forum:
I have been using egold since four years ago with two accounts which now both of them are not accessible. When I signed up there was no such a country limitation policy and I entered my real address and phone number and real country(Iran) and I always connect to egold with my real IP.I've never done anything wrong or against their terms and conditions. They even called me two times in order to give me a new pasphrase.I emailed them and explained the situation but they just keep sending this message which makes me sick:
Your account has been frozen in compliance with the laws which govern e-gold, Ltd. and its managers. e-gold, Ltd. has taken this step in strict compliance with the law.
No further information is available at this time. When additional information is available it will be provided upon account login.
Thank you
without any more clarification or even publishing an official statement. almost all of my friends have the same problem.it seems that they have removed our accounts from their database.
I'm totally ruined...

as far as i know..
99% of iran ppls is engaged with gmail spam of e-gold hyip programs..cheerleading and voting.. they also have a forum takgold.biz they have huge hyip investors emails.. they get them regularly 24/7..
and around 20% of them creating and vanishing with new gc hyip sites every day.. they also largest seller of all pirated gc scripts etc..
some of scammers i talked with in the past was telling me we are mafia and make 5k-10 per week and vanish.. and was laughing..
i dont know about terrorism.. and iran is not only a country for that..
i think its the scam and spam rate and volume of ppl involved in this that caused them problems..
another thing is lastly i came to know.. they still operating just creating new e-gold acccount and changing their country to false country names and signing with host server proxy..
long ago i used to know china scams cheats internet a lot.. now i think they moved to safe zone and iran becoming it

WTF has terrorism got to do with Iranian citizens? WTF has terrorism got to do with impinging on people's rights and freedoms. Terrorism exists only in the imaginations of whoever wants to control someone through fear of being killed by a terrorist.

Its a sad reality but unfortunately that is part of how the US government operates. and probably many others. They categorize particular "origins" into potential terrorists and I guarantee that had something to do with the reason the Iranians accounts were deleted. Potential terrorists dont scare me, but my own government does. Thats a whole new ballgame though
