Pay Pal is one of the best ways to transfer funds quickly, safely and efficently. But it does not operate to some Asian countries like SRI LANKA. Why is this?

There are many regulations in various countries which make it difficult for PayPal to operate in. For PayPal to benefit by making so many changes to its systems to operate in these countries it needs a large number of users in that country. Probably in Srilanka there are fewer PayPal wannabe users than PayPal wants, so it is not yet operational there. Take the example of India, a few years ago PayPal was not operating in India, but as more & more ppl showed interest in opening a/c in India they eventually did open India operations.

Paypal is also not available in Pakistan. We really need Paypal and I have emailed Paypal few times, and they say that they are slowly increasing their network.

I hope paypal will start soon in Srilanka and Pakistan too

Paypal just want to protect the rest of their members and thus are slow in including high-risk countries.

Slowly but surely they will include yours...

It is really a troubling situation for that countries residents. Anyways you can use asianpay instead.
