I am new to the site, but what I have noticed, is when I do a search, lets say, in the HYIP section, and I want to find a thread about a particular site, I type in the site name in keywords, and match exact phrase, and I get this BS with nothing included in what I am looking for(I mean, threads that do not match exact phrase like it should). When I do get hits, I find the thread to be closed for double posting. If you go thru all the trouble to close threads for double posting, how about you provide a link to the original thread? You already know the original is there or else you wouldn't keep closing threads left and right. The other option is to make your search more reliable, so if I search titles only for joeshmoe.com I should get the thread for joeshmoe.com and not a bunch of threads that have nothing to do with my search. I think option 1 is a quick fix, option 2 will take some time. In the end I think both should be implemented.
If you type the phrase in " " 's it won't show you all the other stuff
Welcome to the forum.
well i did the "" thing and guess what, the other "stuff" showed up...kind of the same thing as "match exact phrase".
Thanks for the welcome
The search function works perfectly, but you just have to make sure you use it properly. Here are some examples of the advanced search functions:
apple banana - Find posts that contain at least one of these words +apple +juice - Find posts with both words +apple -juice - Find posts with 'apple' but not 'juice' apple* - Find posts with 'apple' and/or 'applesauce' "Some Words" - Find posts with the phrase 'some words of wisdom',' some words' but not 'some noise words' Also, you can see this topic that christy has written that explains how to perform an effective search http://www.moneymakergroup.com/Perform-EFFECTIVE-Foru-t22928.html |
