I was strongly considering buying a banner add for my program. I was just wondering why is there so many none industry related banners in rotation. Shhhh if I am to pay $400 plus for an add I would like the maximum impressions possible. Do you think its fair for the paying customer. I don't! I really don't care to see true, eharmony and the rest of this none industry related ads. I guess I am not in charge but I cannot bring myself to buy banners when I feel like it not worth it because I am sharing space with this useless ads that are in there as filler and of no use to the members of MMG.

They should be removed just my suggestion

I noticed that too actually.
Who knows? Someone could be advertising their affiliate links or something. I don't think Jason or them said that non-hyip banners aren't allowed... It's advertising despite what is advertised, he shouldn't have to turn them down as long as they abide with the terms.

These are paying customers through one of our partner advertising networks. Many of them are paying significantly higher eCPM's than we charge our direct advertisers. Our "industry" advertisers are getting everything they pay for and usually significantly more.

Also, please note that your ad is shown with the same frequency regardless of how many advertisers we have, since there are limited numbers of slots available for each section.

Dear admins,

I guess it's some kind of wrong way in making business. There is no chance to make all in one and reach success. MMG is a place related to investment industry. The ads which show "Get the next generation of smileys" make me ( me only?) feel strange. Doesn't matter how much they are. You lose the main targeted visitors... It's hardly possible to sell such places without them. I do really like MMG but such new things make me finding another places to talk about investment. Targeted ads are okay, but these....

Sorry.

By including ads that has nothing to do with your forum content you're lowering the quality of your forum, not to mention that those 24 hours pop-ups are annoying even in firefox (i hate that yellow bar), if you're so desperate to increase your earnings you should find other ways.

MMG is a discussion board and, in general, people like using fun new smilies. Just because you might not be interested in that kind of service doesn't mean those ads don't perform well or resonate with the MMG members. Only allowing HYIP niche advertisers is akin to an investment magazine (ex: Forbes) only accepting advertisements for brokerages; it would be foolish to have this policy. MMG has a diverse readership base interested in various different things. If a legitimate company wants to try and target some of our user base, and is willing to pay the same rates and sometimes more, why would we turn them down? Displaying these ads doesn't make us lose our main targeted visitors. Like 99%+ sites on the webs, people visit to read content. As always, we are still taking direct advertising orders and they will get everything they pay for and usually more.

Ok thanks for the reply.

1. Any way these banners are out of this world at all. Imagine. I have 1 PM (!) right now. Midnight or something like that. I have hi end audio on. I do nothing and opps I am getting that """""""" smiles' sound. I couldn't imagine such situation before.... not here at least. You are lucky you haven't heard the words from my wife....smile.gif Ok doesn't matter.

2. As business man I do really understand you. As far as from many investigations I have seen the world of hyip is going to be fail. So, there are no good investors and really big money-bags. So, probably it's a good way to keep cash flow the same. Unfortunately early 2000-03 have gone.

One more cent about that. I would beg, really beg. It's not just another type of business. Hyip world really differs. regular rules don't work here. That's all. Thanks for your reply once again.

Hah I remember getting pop ups too, but I'm really not sure about the source of the pop up as I'm not a tech person haha and thanks to my Firefox it blocked the thing smile.gif

MMG have put those non industry related ads up because they are sick of people calling them 'scammers paradise'

also with scams constantly being advertised all over mmg it is always raising crazy rumours whether the admins are scammers themselves. It also gives MMG a very unprofessional impression

S!nTeZ
YEp....the pop ups or unders or whatever you guys call them deffinetly gotta go! annoyed.gif What is this..a marketing area?
Remember the guy who sold a million of pixels 1 pixel/$ and got a million the same month he created the site...Well I deffinetly hope MMG won`t turn in to such a thing!:)

I guess you are wrong. Last few months intentions is just some kind of attempt to increase cashflow. MMG isn't cheap in it development and support. As from there are not too many money bags.... There are not too many programs which could pay even these amounts to be advertised on MMG. Look around. It's ok that admins are trying to find another types to get money instead of doing nothing. Once again. Good time of easy money has gone.

jafar00
It would be nice if we could at least be spared the smilies ads. A smiley saying "OMG, no way" gets tired after the first 50 or so times wink.gif

i suppose that is the main reason, i have noticed the sales of ads decreasing over the last few months
Ragnafrak
I'm still not seeing any adds popping up/under or anywhere. Every once in a while i'll get one of those lil alert bars at the top of my browser that says it's blocked something. I never hear annoying ads, and I don't recall ever doing anything super significant to change my blocker. ;/

[edit]inappropriate language[/edit] ads!

They really piss me off and I hope admin gets rid of it

I stopped upgrading because of the other forum changes too.

If MMG calls itself general discussion forum then there should be more of it and more threads on different subjects.

Please be encouraged to discuss different subjects.

Why don't you disable them if they bother you this much?
I think you just right click on one and click on the question mark.

I am sorry for being so forward about it but they suck so bad it's not even funny! I had problems when the advertising came back and couldnt be fixed by upgrading. Why would I upgrade now?
Radmax
Why would you upgrade? There are plenty of reasons to upgrade your account.

Benefits Include:

* 250 PM box storage slots.
* The ability to access the MMG Investment Tracker
* Special color in the usernames list.
* Special group name (Supporter)
* Customized tagline under your name and avatar (make it say whatever you want, just PM Radmax to change it)
* Your name always stays at the top of the user list on the MMG home page
* Special icon below your name in your posts and your profile that says "MMG Supporter"
* The ability to create new topics in the "Ads & Promos" and "Selling & Trading" sections.
* The ability to access our member to member currency exchange section (still must meet the 3 month/250 post rule to access this section after you subscribe)
* You will be supporting MMG and helping with the rising costs of hosting services and advertising (thousands of dollars per month!)

Have you guys tried AdBlock? I use it when my connection is slow and hate loading banner ads and such.
