Domain Names Business

Hello guys, today I come across domain names business. I saw some topics here about it and I would like to ask someone who is in the business how does it work exactly... Is it really a good business and so a good way to make some extra money? If so, how does it work exactly and which are good places to sell and buy domains?

I tried to get an estimated price for 2 domains of mine (ptrlister.com and getpaidinfo.net) on leapfish.com.
The first one was said to worth 2,000$ and the second one about 500$, is that something nearly real?
