Seb. Hi Seb, Are your Expert Advisors working ok at the moment? Friday and today mine have an X instead of theusual smiley face. I've not changed anything in fact I have re-installed the mt4 files from my download again in case something was inadvertedly changed but it's still the same.

hopefully nuke or anyone else could solve my problem...
I did everything right (I think) from step 1 to step 4 after reading the autopilot PDF... but unfortunately, i cant activate (step 5) my copy of FAPS because my expert ID is 0?!
Does anyone have a solution to this?
* I have sent an email to support@autopilot about 2 hours ago, but no reply just yet.

Hi, What do you call "expert ID"? I assume you have Forexautopilot in the list of your EAs just like in my examples and you dragged and dropped it on a EURUSD form? you are right nuke, I have dropped the autopilot onto the chart, and it works fine (judging from the smiley face). but then an alert pops up saying "Your FAPS Copy is not activated. Please activate it in ForexAutoPilot.com Member Area! Your expert ID=0". According to the manual, it's not suppose to be '0', so that i can key it in the autopilot members' page in order to get my activation code and then paste it in the Properties > Input > KEY section. *I guess I was just to eager to begin trading, will wait for their reply then. Thanks for pointing out something so simple. sometimes, when u place a new order or switch off your pc, your smiley face will change to X and the Expert Advisors button is turned off, realize that a few times... glad to help.. Probably u could help me with the "Navigator". I accidentally pulled it wide, and it's covering the other charts... and I have no idea how to bring it back to the original size, which is a simply small box under the market watch section.

Probably u could help me with the "Navigator". Yeah just go to the very right of the Navigator box and you'll see two arrows to drag it back. Just hold down your left mouse button and drag it to the size you want.

I never see the smiley or the X - I don't run that application on winthing, I'd never use a microsoft system I just don't trust them, and don't need them... I run it on Vector Linux at the moment, using Wine which lets me run some win applications. It runs fine except for a couple of small bugs, like the smiley thing... So even when my "expert advisors" button is off I don't see an X. Seb.

Seb. If you are missing the smiley thing I think you forgot to install MS core fonts. I have MT4 running under Ubuntu and I get the faces

It's no big deal anyway  Can you edit the EA settings directly into the application? It either makes mine crash, or I can simply not edit the fields... An easy workaround though is to save the settings, edit the settings file manually, then load it back. Seb.

gsetiger Hi, I'd say the settings need to be adapted to your situation, especially the lot size... On a mini account you'd better reduce it or you may not have enough funds to sustain the trades. As you can see on my latest screenshot I'm running at 0.2 lot on a $3000 account, it makes smaller profits but is safer... Also depending on your experience and the size of your account you may want to adapt the trailing stop value. Use it to secure your profit (i.e. once a trade is in profit you don't want it to got back into a loss, the trailing stop will force the system to take the profit if the "take profit" value hasn't been reached yet and the trend seems to revert). I've updated my screenshot recently... 25 successful trades out of 26 within a week. With a 0.2 lot size it doesn't make a huge profit but still, this is real profit and it makes that single losing trade insignificant.

Screenshots page updated with a second screenshot...
Compare the two screenshots you'll see it's still the same account: the last trades from the 1st screenshot are visible on the 2d one.
