Hi everyone,

Some of the recent matrix site/phantom script doubler launches recently have gotten me a bit frustrated with the way the reserve funds are set up on the individual member's account level.

My first problem lies in that we're depending on people like and unlike ourselves to use their reserve funds diligently and not just take what they can make in the line and forget about the rest of us. I think that the admin of a phantom script site should have the imperitive to spend members' reserve funds for them in order to cycle out as many people as possible and increase the overall positive reaction to their site.

Secondly, what about the money that gets stuck in reserve funds?

For example, today Rapid Cycler launch a $10 300% line with a 20% reserve fund. That means for each cycled out share, $6 was put into the reserve fund of the member who's share cycled.

Now, I'd hope that the $6 in the reserve fund would be put towards helping out the people that are still stuck in that $10 line. But it's not enough to buy a share, right? It'd take 2 shares to cycle out for it to be enough, and even after that the person would have $2 stuck in their reserve fund doing nothing, permanently removed from the system, not helping anyone. (Except maybe an unscrupulous admin, but that's a topic for another thread.)

Presently, the Admin reserve fund is meant to be used to purchase shares after the line has stalled in order to give Emergency Medical Response-like resuscitation. But what if the admin fund was used not to purchase whole shares, but to spread out in chunks of a few dollars amongst individual members' reserve funds to bring them to totals that'd be able to purchase a new share?

In my example, instead of the admin needing to spend $10 from the admin reserve to put another share at the bottom of the line, they could just add $8 to the aforementioned cycling member's $2 and put the new share at the bottom of the list in their name.

How many times have you participated in a phantom launch like this and gotten stuck with like $5 in your reserve fund to do nothing with? I don't presume to know your exact level of benevolence, but I'd wager fairly that most of you don't want to kick in the other $5 on your own because you know that barring some random miracle you're never going to cycle that share.

With the admin reserve going to kick in that $5 for them. The members would be happy since they're getting a new spot in the line, and with the latest fad in twisting lines all over the place having that last spot in the line might not be such a bad thing.

Admins would also benefit because more shares cycling means more admin fees being generated, right?

Using the admin reserve to kick in the missing portions of what other people need in their reserve funds would allow the admin reserve to go towards adding many many many more positions to the line than if it were just used to purchase the shares straight-out, I'm sure.

What do you guys think? Am I naive or what?
