Hi everyone,
Maybe not all of you are aware of this but for the last 4 to 5 days, Jakarta (the capital city of Indonesia) is flooded very, very, very heavily and is going through almost unimaginable condition. You can see the news here and keep updated :
PLEASE, READ :

More details on :
http://www.thejakartapost.com/city.asp and some of them are even staying at a cemetery(!) :
http://www.thejakartapost.com/detailcity.a....C02&irec=1The floods completely paralized the city and millions of people suffer heavy losses. I'm from Indonesia but I'm not directly affected as I live about 80 miles away from the capital but I have a lot of relatives and friends who are heavily affected as they work in Jakarta and some of them have more their families in Jakarta.
For the last four days, I've been contacting or still trying to contact them (some of them are unreachable). Phones were down but getting better, email is no good at all. What I've been trying is to send them some funds from myself and the people who want to help, by one way or another. But I have to say that they could use some more help as I'm not having enough for everyone and it's kind of difficult to decide who gets what and who is next in line, etc. Haven't had a good sleep for the last couple of days. The sad truth is, unlike with the flooding which is also happening in Australia, Indonesians can not rely on the government for help. I know the local Red Cross organization and volunteers are doing a lot of work.
I'm wondering if there are people on this forum willing to help, no matter how little it is. I have someone who is giving me cash immediately for any amount of e-gold I could send him, so that we do not have to wait for out-exchangers which takes too much time. I can then send the cash to the people instantly by local bank transfer and they can get it from the nearest ATM which is still working.
www.redcross.comFor what it's worth, thank you everyone for reading this.
