I've been a member for quite a while, but I've never actually used the site. I've seen on so many forums people are calling it a scam.

What exactly is the deal? Why would so many think it's a scam if it's not? And also is it even worth it either way?

Thanks,
Danielle

I have been a member for awhile and I don't use it much anymore because I have a downline ,a big one and they have seemed to not us yuwie any at all I have never seen any money from yuwie cant say if it is a scam.I know of people who are getting payed from yuwie. You must be careful when you read anything that has scam in it .....Its a good why to piggy back a keyword it can be any company name with scam at the end of the name ...When you read the post from a search engine more than most times you will always see a link to something to join in that post. That's called piggy backing a keyword its an old trick but it works .....Just because it says its a scam don't always mean it is one.......

I'm aware of that usage but I've seen people actually call it a scam in forums and stuff. And many sites do not even allow discussion of Yuwie, specifically (like Squidoo).

I dont think it's a scam it's just that yuwie has decreased their rate for users to make money on it as what i have read from people's post and they have given up on on yuwi because of it

I don't think it's a scam site but earnings are really low for the time spent on there, If you like Yuwie then use it. not to make money but to have fun and make friends

I've heard a lot about it being a scam also. I used it before, but haven't in awhile. I am a big CafeMom and MySpace user. Anyway, I wouldn't use it for the earnings anyway. I like Social Networks because they are a great way to meet new people, network and make friends. They are also a great business builder as well. That in itself is a whole lot better than making a penny here and a penny there. Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

I don't think Yuwie is necessarily a scam but in the initial advertising, all that was heard throughout the net was "a paying social site!!!!" and I think this drew out a lot of creeps lookin' for quick bucks. I joined very early on - and am constantly inundated with marketing jargon and spammy messages. The site itself says in TOS not to spam - but it constantly happens anyway.

I had a few yuwie banners on some squidoo lenses and had to "fix the problem" or risk having some lenses deleted. In this, I've taken note of what moneymaker1008 said in mentioning squidoo and yuwie. I think squidoo just recognizes that the 'clientelle' over at Yuwie are somewhat of the uncontrollable junk posting type. Sorry - not all Yuwie members - but many. The site is so big, I'm not sure moderators and owners can manage the junk and spam.

I thought I would go check out the site. I didn't realize my speakers were turned on and way up loud. Then I got this blast of disco music. I got tired of waiting for the site to load. I got bored and left!

This is one of Yuwie's biggest problems, it loads very slow due to being crammed with ads and a constantly playing radio station. I have been a member there for years and it has gone downhill. I can assure you that it is not a scam however. It does pay, but like the others above have stated, it takes alot of referrals to make a decent amount of money. There are some newer paying social networks that i have been hearing good things about.

No, Yuwie is not at all a scam. It is a legitimate site. The reason why many people calls it scam because they did something against its rules and regulations to earn money and then they don't get paid due the the violation of rules.
But it is a genuine site to socialize and earn money.
