Winter Olympics has been going on in Italy, Torino nearly a week now and no-one seems to be interested
in it as I see there are no topics about them.

In my country and I guess on the Old Continent they are quite popular but maybe in America they are not so noticed as in here.

That's why I wanted to make a poll and see how wide the interest on this ancient old sport tradition is.

Would be nice to hear your comments also and maybe also tell from what part of the world you come.

I always love watching the winter olympics.

There has never been any winter olympics without drama.

It display human courage andpassion at our best and worst.

Like they said about winter olympics "If you have all the physical attributes, you have nothing. The biggest muscle is the HEART."

Particularly touched by the courage and passion show by China's Zhang Dan to get up from a brutal fall to continue and win a SILVER.

Oh, yes, that Zhang Dan's accident was awful. I was hiding my eyes with my hands when they showed it again and again. I was certain that she would not continue. But as you said she showed her real enthusiasm by pulling hersef together and continuing. I can just imagine the pain she must have suffered during their perfomance.

summer olympics will be more popular but winter has some interesting sports in it but they are not so popular all over the world

Yes so it seems to be. Of course winter games are popular here in Northen countries because of the long winter we have.

But as it shows that few people are even interested to give this poll a look not to mention to vote, so I guess that on MMG there are not a lot of people whose days (or nights) at the moment would be full of Olympic Games.

Not a big thing in the US these days. Used to be but with these new sports and no big stars it doesn't get as much attention. You have pockets of people who watch religiously but not like they used to.

I couldn't care less about the Olympics, summer or winter

If it's ever in NYC I may go and bring a few people who I know enjoy that stuff, of course would take them around NYC and then go to the boring Olympics and have a story to tell my kids if I ever have any

Football all I watch.

The olympics are garbage. Because of it the regular tv programming must resort to repeats instead of trying to compete with it. I feel the same with with that stupid show american idol.

Oh hell... I feel the same with any television show revolving around reality. If I wanted to watch reality and I'd go outside.

I am not interested in watching it... I prefer money making and chatten

I appreciate that the athletes work and strive really hard to achieve the gold ... but in general I think it makes for pretty boring spectator sport watching. And WAY too hyped.

I like watching the figure skating, that's about it.

I only know that germany is on fire and rocking everywhere
But i'm not watching it, kind of boring

Glad for Shani....l like speed skating and ice skating kinda.

Don't watch it that much. Mostly I watch hockey and I take a look at contestans from my country in other sports.
