People love good videos (mostly funny ones). What I really see that people search a lot in videos are those DIY videos. People like to do things themselves (mostly to save money) that's why they search a lot of this kinds of videos.

Advertising in Youtube is definitely one effective way of marketing. I think in fact it is the most effective of all. It is just a mater of presentation.
