does anyone know of a translator that actually translates perfectly or is that too much to ask? :S
CJoyce, I think that's hard, and let me tell you why
First, I want to say that I agree with a lot of you, Googles Translator is very nice, and babelfish is as well. However, It's just like a parlor when you're visiting another country. You can't rely on it to translate perfectly. There are nice features to translate whole sites into your language, but if you haven't got a clue on the original language, you're in for a whole bunch of confusing lingo in the translation.
Like, I'm from Denmark, and we have a very different grammer than the english (and probably a lot of other countries too), so when translating something from Danish to English (or vice versa) things get jumbled up a bit.
Personally I haven't coma across any "perfect" translation tool yet, and I doubt it will ever be invented, because of the various styles of putting words together in different languages.
That's why the tranlsation bureaus have such a good income.
But, having said that, I do think that a wise way to overcome the limitations of online translation is to find someone from the country that speaks the language you want something translated into, and then have them translate it.
We're all making new friends each day, and with the mass of social sites out there, and instant messenger programs like skype, messenger and so on, we all have a lot of people right at our fingertips.
It's just a matter of using the tools we have.
Happy translating to you all.
