Hi smile.gif ,

I know a bit how to trading on betting-exchange sites like BetFair but I found less articles about it or if there are you must pay for see the full instructions. Anyone are currently trading on this site? If yes can explain to us the techniques to trade?

For those who do not know what are the betting exchange site, here you can bet on the winnings "back" and on the losses "lay" . So the money here are made only by the users. You do not have to bet against a traditional bookmakers but against other player .
Everything is automatically calculated by the software...

At this moment I only trading on football match. It's great!

Example: I'm laying 20$ for draw on a price of 3.5 at the start of a live event. (Risking 70$ if will be a draw Or I will receive 20$ if there's no draw.)
One of the team after 20 minutes marks the first goal. The price for Backing on draw are increased to 4.0 so If 2backing" 19$ on 4.0 I'll win 76.

At the end if there is a draw : 76-70 = 6$
If there is not a draw : 20-19= 1$ (on bet fair there is a 5% commission for backing so you earn 0 in this case but you have lose nothing and this is the important).

On this example you can earn only a bit but there's other methods ...

Many people prefer to trading on Horse Racing but I still don't understand how to trade here cause the highs odds for laying.

thanks for the help..

Didn't quite have time to post a reply last night....

Which system are you referring to as a paid one. I was using some free software which is made to trade on horses. There is a paid version also, but there are free tutorials how to use the software and all the examples are with races.
I am sure you know about it if trading on Betfair as it is available through Betfair.
I used it for Tennis wink.gif it is awesome, works much faster than directly in Betfair account.
The odds also change very fast during a tennis match, you can back and lay several times during just a single game point. I suppose it is the same with horses in the last few minutes before a race begins.

Haven't been very active in my Betfair account lately, I just stick to the NRL at the moment, where I place bets early and then trade them either before the game or during. Mostly for over and under scores. Also some longer term ones, the State of Origin and the premiership. The only problem with anything in Australia is the liquidity of the market as it is against Australian gambling law to place bets online during a game, so the market is restricted to people outside of Oz.....

I did a trade today for the final State Of Origin Rugby league match between Queensland and New South Wales on the total match points.

It was all done before the match started and guarantees profit no matter what the score is... nice wink.gif

nice one but not sure why you backed over 38.5 pts but layed under 38.5 pts AND over 38.5. It's a bit confusing but I'll figure it out. whistling1.gif

It depends what is available.
As Betfair is an exchange you need to have someone else to take whatever you are offering or asking wink.gif
Sometimes you can lay (which basically is just back bet on the opposite result) and sometimes it pays to back. Just have to see what's there and get the best odds either way!

The back bet in this case was the last one I made, was my fast exit for profit!

Yep, I regularily do some trading on the exchanges, especially on football matches in running. I still have a lot more to learn though. rolleyes.gif
