If you own a Squidoo Lens, or even several Lenses, then you may post about it in this folder and show us what you`ve got.

If you haven`t yet got your own lens, you might want some convincing it`s a good idea.

Here`s what Seth Godin, the founder of Squidoo, says about it. He is also the bestselling author of more than seven books. He writes about marketing, the spread of ideas and managing both customers and employees with respect.

Modules - these are the bits that come pre-formatted with titles and suggestions for what goes in them - Make sure you do alter the default title of each module - If you don't want to put anything in the module, delete it. - Have a look and see what modules are available and what they do, there's dozens, if not hundreds! (many, many, many more than previously mentioned - just go to add module and scroll through the tabs, each of which usually has a few pages too) Add some of the modules to get user interaction. Getting interaction with visitors improves squidoo lensrank.

Content - same rules apply here as they would anywhere, without unique content you can forget about visitors, and the more content the better. If you have a lot of text, split it up and create a few more text/write modules to put it in. Some say that search engines like this as they give emphasis to the module headers in results. Add images to each write module, you know a sea of text isn't inviting.

Affiliate marketing - Feel perfectly free to make it as commercial as you like, include the same affiliate ads that you have on your website or add others. The only restriction here is it has to be HTML, no java or iframes, no gambling links, and a few other common sense conditions. Avoid making it too spammy as if reported as spam it may get deleted along with your account. If you're new to affiliate marketing using squidoo's product modules maybe a good start, though as the bucks mount up (they pay in dollars by paypal), you may start to resent them taking about 50% of it! Amazon and eBay modules do tend to perform well, though there are alternatives to using the squidoo ones. Squidutils provides a nice tool to create similair links to amazon which you can add your own affiliate id to and link to the UK amazon, which the normal squidoo module won't. The only downside using that tool is they take 20% of your clicks! You can also generate eBay RSS feeds with your affiliate code and drop these in the RSS module to great effect!

Also, take a look at some of the squidoo tutorials, there's a great one on basic squidoo html, one on advanced squidoo html, one on tweaking the css, and these will really show you how to alter the look and feel of a page and optimise the html/css available.

Rolling others lenses, join others fanclubs, rate their lenses, and write comments. Joining some Squidoo `Groups` also helps to get your Lens noticed.

Finally - freshen up your lens every so often.

If any of our members here have Squidoo Lenses you should be thinking about getting others to rate yours, add comments, Lensroll etc. That`s the way to get your lens noticed, climb up the rankings, and earn more MONEY.

Just post your lens, then someone else can visit it, and they can then post theirs here in the thread, and you can reciprocate. The more who join in the better it will be for all of you who have lenses.

You could now do with others who use Squidoo to rate, comment, become a fan etc on yours, and then to post in this thread.

There's people here using Squidoo!!! I've been using it over a year and have made around $50 with it as a test. I have some tips to share!

1) When writing your articles think about the search engine and what it sees. Search engine optimize your lense!! You can't do this blindly though, and if you want it to remain a popular lense you must update your terms based on search trends. You should check out the Google keyword tool and put in the word your lense is about. Once you've done that select the most popular words and use them in your lense.

2) Once you've done this, register to onlywire.com and follow the instructions. Onlywire will add your lense to loads of different social bookmarking websites at the click of a button. This is useful as many of them websites are highly valued by the search engine and therefore your lense will have better value.

3) Don't write a short lense, that nobody is going to be interested in. Spend time on your lense, produce something interesting in other words.

4) Stumble that lense when it's interesting enough, or let someone else stumble it if you're not regarded by stumbleupon as a highly valued member.

5) If you've got any blogs, blog about your new lense!

6) Enjoy squidoo it's an amazing website and I love it.

Squidoo has an excellent interface and editing function for the HTML newbie. If you are interested in building a list, then you will need to be creative since the iframe tag is no longer allowed.

I have decided that you have to enjoy building len's for the sake of doing them.

Once you have your Squidoo lens set, you can do a few other things. Make sure you get involved in the Squidoo communities. There are also some Squidoo search engine directories listed. If you have a blog or website, make sure you backlink to it and vice versa. Use the Twitter plug-in and RSS feed. ALSO, utilize some article marketing. Write an article on Ezinearticle (not self-promotional) and list your Squidoo URL in the bottom. Make sure your article is keyword specific so it can receive traffic from the search engines. If your readers are interested, they will click over to the lens to learn more.
