I am thinking about a registry cleaner called Doublemyspeed.com by Cyberdefender. I got the Cyberdefender EDC 3.0 antivirus software, and I am very happy with it. It is easy to use, and has caught some suspicious files and block some virus programs. So I am very happy with it, and got the 24/7 computer help line which I all ready used and they actually helped me.

So, I saw Doublemyspeed TV ad, and went to their site and found it was a Cyberdefender product. My understanding is that this is a registry cleaner that finds malware in your windows registry, is this correct?

How much additional security will this give me?

Well I'm not sure what's causing the speed increase, but a registry cleanup? Dream on :-) Infact you sound more like a commercial. Smart move though buddy. Like the choice of domainname and page design.

For anyone else reading this? You're better of using these free tools to speed up your computer: ccleaner and mydefrag. Or better yet .. save some money and buy a 30-40GB Solid State Disk.

If you really want to speed up your PC, try deferagging it and clearing your website cache. If that fails run a couple of free malware programs like Spybot or Adaware. If that fails, try adding RAM to it. If none of that works, it's probably time for a new PC...LOL.

Remove temp files, delete cookies daily , defragment your drives once in a month or weekly.

Upgrade your PC! install the newest drivers!

Use Defragler and CCleaner.
Other tools are not so worthy.
Cleaning registry doesnt speed nothing.
Anyway, if you are windows user .. start .. run .. msconfig ... and uncheck all processes you dont wanna to start at start
Also you can turn off services in service tab you dont wanna use

rcently i downloaded a registry booster, this software clears the pc registry but its not free, they only clear few issues while requesting that one buys with $29.

CCleaner and MyDefrag are awesome programs.

Through many years of experience i have found that using reg cleaners and the likes actually end up slowing your PC more than helping.

The absolute best solution is to format your PC every 2 months, and use seperate drives to backup your files. Once you get the hang of it you can easily do a full reinstallation and get back all your old settings in an hour or so.

Hardware wipes are good ideas, but I dont feel its necessary after two months. I do mine once or twice a year, depending on how unorganized my computer has gotten. As for the reg cleaners, yeah, they need to be used with caution, but usually are a viable option for people that know very little about computering.

As people say here, formatting a hard drive is the best way to get clean OS.
If you so worry about registry, just keep in mind that the less things you install on your pc - the better it works
Use only needed programs, drivers, tools.

I use RegCleaner. It is easy to use and delete garbage from your computer and autolauch.

Speed up your pc by following-
Click "start"- "run" then write "recent"- delete all files
again write "prefetch" and do the same
then %temp% and delete all files
and at last write "tree"
Now enjoy your pc with great speed.

not really, and you can just use ccleaner for that and whole lot more (takes out the 'techy' stuff). The best 'speed up' is indeed a format C and reinstall. Better yet use a 'lite' version of Windows, takes out all the unnecessary services and thus freeing up a lot of RAM. Then again ... for a few $100 you have a budget mobo + Intel G620 and 4GB of RAM and 64GB SSD ... and most people will have a 500% speed increase then.
