Hello Everyone,
After seeing a thread for My Secret Fortune all of a sudden (when it had been launched and MERGED with another program over a year ago) I was going to remain silent, but didn't feel right about doing so, especially when some folks I know have jumped on this bandwagon.
This is not intended to throw water on anyone's enthusiasm, but I have some valuable information that you should know as you begin to promote and go forward with MSF.
Again, these statements are intended to be helpful information. On the internet, it's especially important for you to know who you're in business with...
First, the good news...I know Barry Eschenberg personally and can absolutely vouch for his honesty and intentions of running a very good program. I've known Barry for nearly four years now, have been in business with him a few times, and he's a very good guy.
Now the not so good news...again, this is meant to inform in case you don't know this person...
John D. began MSF a good while back, so to call it a launch now is laughable. I was a founding member of another short lived program (Bring Your Buddy) that merged with MSF to then become The Perfect Startup (TPSU). MSF went dormant while John and Barry worked on their mutual project, TPSU with a third admin, my sponsor.
Problems...
John continually influenced Barry to change the comp plan, then change it again, then change it again...each time claiming they were "enhancements". Bottom line, whenever enrollments slow up, instead of focusing on marketing and growing the business, John would "enhance" the comp plan, trying to prop things up by changing the numbers instead of creating a business with value in the first place.
There were MANY reports of John interacting with members in a less than professional manner (again, I KNOW 2 of the 3 who were / are admin over the past year, so I got reports of how John worked with his members and partners regularly) or even in a forceful manner, completely irresponsible for a program admin.
I somewhat didn't buy what I was hearing behind the scenes until I experienced it personally last month.
I wrote to ask if I could receive my monthly commission via company check since John repeatedly couldn't keep my EBullion account information somewhere he could find it when commissions were due (I hadn't received a commission payment for three months even though I had...check that, STILL HAVE a downline of 15 members in that program...and that should have paid me $120 or more monthly for the past two months)...but I digress...
When John answered my email, not only did he not answer my request at all...he directly and bluntly stated in LINE #1 of his email that the reason I didn't receive my pay was that it was my fault...that I hadn't submitted the proper information and that I wasn't owed anything and shouldn't be complaining!
Think about this...what kind of admin speaks to a paying member of his business in that way when the member was a founding member and had promoted and signed up a couple dozen members when it launched?
I'd think if one of my members was having trouble receiving their commission, my response as an admin would be "I'm certainly sorry to hear that's happened...let's see how we can get this corrected, because I do appreciate your confidence and participation in our program."
Firstly, I had submitted my EBullion account, evidenced by the fact that I'd received a couple month's earnings in that account (prior to the thing going dark for three months and not receiving anything while they couldn't make their mind up and kept "enhancing" the comp plan over and over)
EBullion was indeed an accepted processor, set up by TPSU admin when Safepay Solutions just up and stopped doing business in Texas (which is where I was living during this mess)...so I had in fact submitted it, gotten paid through it, and when commissions stopped flowing, my sponsor (the other original admin of this program) gave John my EBullion account personally over the phone...
So John's lack of professionalism and poor people skills with his paying members now expands to incompetence as well...
And since on the internet, one's reputation in dealing with people IS the very essense of your business...now he also moves into the "temperamental and very shortsighted" catagory as well.
Are those the qualities of an admin you can trust and want to be in business with?
This post is intended to be informational...and cautionary...
Ask yourself these questions...
Why is MSF even "launching" if John is an effective admin, since he already has a program and many members he's responsible to? Could it be he's running from those who he's already ruined his reputation with?
Why are they even calling it a "launch" since it had previously been live and was MERGED into TPSU a year ago?
Barry is a good guy and I'm very glad to vouch for his integrity having known him for several years, but John is the alpha male in the admin. After his extraordinarily rude and unprofessional response to a simple request from a paying member who had promoted his business, I'd NEVER do business again with John D.
BTW, my sponsor (the third original admin of TPSU) basically walked away from active admin duties with this as he got tired of bumping heads with John time after time over member issues.
If I were less professional, after receiving the email I got from John last month, I'd sure want to call him something here!
I'll just leave it with this...
If I saw John D's name on anything, I'd run the other way, period.
He's not trustworthy, he's temperamental, and he's not a leader.
I sincerely hope he has his act together (although since the above described exchange occurred only a month ago, odds are he hasn't changed in any meaningful way in 30 days)...I hope this works and works very well for you all, but DO keep a VERY close eye on your commission statements...watch for changes that seem to come out of thin air...watch for ongoing problems with payment processors...and pay VERY close to how you are treated.
Hope this helps! Best of luck to you all with this.

I really hope they do respond mmgcjm, and with sufficient evidence to back up their position.
I can provide copies of my original email request as well as the rude and unprofessional reply I received from John, but will not post them here as my intention was not, and is not to rain on the parade.
I only posted the above because a few people I personally know have gotten involved, and I wanted them to know the track record of those you all are in business with.
As well as providing a quality venue for promoting an opportunity, a forum is also a place where members can share their experiences both positive and less so for the benefit of others. I have done so truthfully and can back up what I posted.
Please note in my post I sincerely hope this works for you all and that John got his act together and will work with you in a professional manner. If I were only trying to create havoc with your build, you wouldn't see a statement like that.
My warning comes from the fact that the email exchange I mentioned only happened on July 7 of this year, just a month ago. Not very long for someone to change their attitude and how they do business, but I hope it's happened.
In addition to my personal experience with John's unprofessional temperament and several reports of the same with others, I don't know how an admin can successfully dedicate himself to serve the paying members of 2 (or more) programs.
Can you feel assured he will take care of his members, or will he cut and run to one of his other deals if things get slow or difficult as he's done with his original MSF, then going to TPSU, now back to MSF? Which is it?
How much promotion do you think the admin will do (for the admin position) of this program to create spill for the members when he has more than one program he's responsible for?
How can you trust an admin who loses your payment information with their accepted processor and then tells you it was YOUR fault for not reading updates?
These are all very reasonable questions that anyone should ask when considering getting in business with John D, and I just wanted to communicate my factual experience with him as an admin. Believe me, I held my tongue in my post.
MSF DID launch and subsequently went dormant, merging with Barry's former program (Bring Your Buddy) in late 2006, becoming TPSU. This is a fact.
TPSU DID go through several comp plan changes over just a six month time period, making it very difficult from month to month to keep track of where you stood. This is a fact.
TPSU DID lose many members throughout the past year, getting down to around 2-400 I believe, only beginning to rebuild (I believe I was told around 900--1500 total after this step) when they created a feeder system "just 20 bucks" for it...This is a fact. And if the reported upswing in memberships did occur, why is John now coming back out with MSF?
TPSU DID NOT pay me for a two month period this past spring, only getting it partially done when my sponsor (the original 3rd admin member) got involved, and not without a tussle with John over it and other issues. This is a fact.
And finally, if John is a quality and honest admin dedicated to the members of TPSU who joined the $20 feeder they created over the past few months, why is he now RE-launching MSF when it was merged into BYB last year?
As stated in my original post, I have nothing but good things to tell you about Barry E, the other admin. I've known him for over four years, and he's a great guy...I'd absolutely do business with him if the situation was right.
I'll simply never do business again with John...that was the point of my post.
Again, I sincerely hope this works for you all and that John does right by you (the 4th time I've now said this). I just felt it was important to share some specific important information about one of the folks you guys are in business with.
Best of Luck and I hope you all do very well with this!

Hello MMG'ers
We have been asked by are current very Happy Members to respond to txted's issue's
Here are some facts as well
To start, MSF was preparing to launch over a year ago when a partnership was formed that resulted in the creation of TPSU. The My Secret Fortune name then became dormant. All members of MSF ( and had not been launched yet) were then transitioned into TPSU.
Domain names are not a one time, use it or lose it product. The name has a lot of appeal and the occasion arose in which to now put it into motion.
In response to Ted's comment regarding John's responsibility to promote and grow the member's business, creating spillover for them, I can only ask if he expects Music Fortye or Learn2Retire , or any other company he is involved with to put people under him as well.
O 'yeah small world Ted ,when we get a call from the owner of one of the companies. Ted did manage to send an email to them asking to be positioned under an active sponsor who would help build his business.
It is each members responsibility to take control of their own business. They need to decide what level of commitment they have to their business and their downlines..
It does not matter what business you decide to join and promote, it is the vehicle by which you build and lose your own income based on your efforts and the efforts of the people below you.
Regarding TPSU and the changes to comp plan in particular. In today's network marketing world sites come and go very quickly. For some, any change to the original business model becomes more of an excuse to not continue to promote due to their inability to effectively market the business, and becomes their, make me feel better about quitting, way out.
Was the comp plan changed 3 times? Yes. Why? Each time the comp plan was changed it resulted in the members themselves being able to increase their earnings potential while reducing the amount of members under them needed to build and maintain a very nice income.
We continue to strive to bring the best com plan available to every one of our members. We challenge any one to find a better paying plan at the same price per month. Actually you can step up quite a bit in monthly before you will even come close.
Not bragging , just stating fact.
It has become more and more common for admin's to just close the door and re-open a new site when things start to slow. This has in part led to the insecurity issues that a major percentage of marketers deal with when joining any business these day's.
There is no better way to invigorate momentum than to give more money back to the very people that are continuing to build their business.
To say that the day a business is launched it can never be changed in any way or it will be assumed their are problems is not logical.
It is merely a fear that is the result of to many companies closing the door rather than working with what they have to continue to make their business better for everyone involved.
The key to business is to adapt and change as needed to ensure longevity.
We as admin can only do so much in a day. So making a change to a comp plan which results in the members making more money without any additional cost or additional members below them does more to promote growth than what admin can single handedly do in it's own marketing efforts across the internet.
Regarding why is MSF open now.
Had Ted remained active and involved in building his TPSU business he would have known the reason MSF has been re-launched as he states. In our continued effort to expand and grow the ability for every member to build a better income MSF was initially launched as an extra bonus for the only20bucks members.
The only way anyone could even get into MSF is if they were a only20 member and had 6 people under them in only20.
Upon request and in consideration of our members it has become an independent program.
Members became very excited over the comp plan and wanted to be able to refer others directly to MSF without them having to have 6 people under them in only20bucks.
Since deciding to do so, we then had to adjust the MSF com plan to accommodate out side entries and it will remain as is with no other changes.
And finally the issue of Ted's commissions.
Did Ted get paid his commissions over the couple month's in question? No. Not right away. Did Ted receive an email response back to his single email request in month 3 to receive his due commissions? Yes. Was the response in a manner that someone may consider to be unsatisfactory. Post the email Ted let the folks here decide. Just make sure you post the entire email and not just John's response.
However let's look at the event's that led up to this isolated incident with one member out of the thousands we now have and the fact that if we were not paying our members as a matter of practice there would be a whole lot more talk about us than Ted's single opinion as justified as he may believe it is.
After issues with Paypal we needed to update our database and requested all members to submit their alternate choice of receiving commissions. We did not receive an email from Ted. However we did receive an email from most of the members who were in this position. Yeah there were a few other's who were off promoting other business's and not paying attention.
Ted chose to communicate with another admin instead of following repeated requests to simply send an email to John who handles the commission payout's.
Passing on his request by word of mouth is not the way to handle business. It was Ted's responsibility to send the email.
If the issue was not being handled in a manner that was up to Ted's standards he also as all members do, had the option to just pick up the phone and give john a call. The number is on our website. No call from Ted.
Ted also states that he has 15 members below him and that he should at least be earning 120 a month.
Since Ted has obviously not logged into his TPSU back office he would not have made such a statement when he can very clearly see all active members and all not active members along with all non qualified members.
If he took the time to log in, I am sure he will not be able to report back that he is correct in his statement regarding the amount he currently say's he has due.
But then How could Ted log into TPSU if he is not happy with us? You would think that he would be deleted from the system after all that happened.
Sorry, that is not what we do.
Ted is still and has always been able to log into his back office and take control of his business at any time.
Finding excuses easier to come up with than actual members for his organization seems to be much better way for Ted to secure an income. Not sure that strategy is going to pay off very well..
Here is Ted Cooks payment history since he joined us in November.

The only reason Ted had any income at all, is due to admin pulling his monthly fee from his commissions to keep him active since we knew him and at the time did it as a favor.
If he spent more time working at one business rather than geting people into one business just to try to get them into another and then another he might not have these types of problems.

In closing you will find in every single company a few people that have a problem with the way things are handeled. When you deal with thousands of members at any given time. It is going to happen.

Seems like a whole lot of effort, anger and sarcasm in the admin response if Iâm âjust an isolated dissatisfied memberâ.
This is precisely what I was talking about in my original post of concern.
Sarcasm, patronizing attitude, anger and a lack of personal restraint and perspective are all apparent in the âactionbizâ post from the MSF admin.
I wonât belabor the issue much further here and this is my final post on this topic, but since the admin has now posted private member information without permission, I do want to clarify a few points. Iâll quote the above post and make my brief comments, then this is a done issue for me.
"In response to Ted's comment regarding John's responsibility to promote and grow the member's business, creating spillover for them, I can only ask if he expects Music Fortye or Learn2Retire , or any other company he is involved with to put people under him as well."
If you re-read my post, I donât believe I said I expected the admin to put people under me, but I donât think itâs unreasonable to measure an adminâs commitment to their own business by whether or not they actually promote it themselves. Many program admins regularly post ads in offline magazines, large subscriber ezines or post in free forums like this one to generate further growth of their business.
"O 'yeah small world Ted ,when we get a call from the owner of one of the companies. Ted did manage to send an email to them asking to be positioned under an active sponsor who would help build his business."
Do responsible program admins really spend their valuable time gossiping on the phone to each other about individual members, posting extensive sarcastic comments to what they claim are âa fewâ dissatisfied members in forums, or do they spend their time building their business and supporting their members?
Iâd be glad for anyone to do a search of all of my posts to date in this forum and see if the attitudes in them reflect someone looking for a free ride, or if they reflect someone with patience, perspective, and seriousness about building a business.
My track record of attitude and business approach is here in writing in this public forum for anyone to seek out if they want to compare my attitude with that of this poster to see which may have more credibility.
You may also ask tman10, richguy and strosdegoz (upline to me in other programs) if Iâve ever once indicated in any way that it was their responsibility to create spillover for me or if Iâve consistently displayed commitment, complete understanding of my own responsibility, patience, and a professional attitude in my dealings with them while in new programs that have developed slower than was expected by the admin.
"We as admin can only do so much in a day. So making a change to a comp plan which results in the members making more money without any additional cost or additional members below them does more to promote growth than what admin can single handedly do in it's own marketing efforts across the internet."
Seems the admin has forgotten the additional one time optional $89.95 cost they added to their plan for members who want to access the new higher levels in the comp plan of TPSU.
"Had Ted remained active and involved in building his TPSU business he would have known the reason MSF has been re-launched as he states."
Sadly, during most of the time period in question I had something of much more importance to focus on than building any business. I moved across the country to care for my terminally ill mother in her final days and have been tending to some complicated estate issues and working to bring her home up to date so it can serve another family for the next 50 years.
I guess the admin feels I should have done more even during this time of personal loss, but my family means more to me than a few dollars in the short term.
"And finally the issue of Ted's commissions.
Did Ted get paid his commissions over the couple month's in question?
No. Not right away.
Did Ted receive an email response back to his single email request in month 3 to receive his due commissions? Yes."
Why is actually sending a response to a member request something to tout as out of the ordinary? Shouldnât a reply be something one should reasonably expect from an admin? I think the fact that I didnât jump through the roof right away when I didnât get paid is more evidence that I am patient and not unreasonable. On the other hand, why should I ever promote a program that doesnât pay me on time?
"Was the response in a manner that someone may consider to be unsatisfactory.
Post the email Ted let the folks here decide. Just make sure you post the entire email and not just John's response."
I have absolutely no problem letting anyone see the reasonable and polite request I actually sent to John and his rude reply in full, but again I wonât publish in public what was a private communication. Unlike this admin, I respect privacy and wonât compromise this ethic simply to reply in public to what amounts to a âplayground challengeâ.
On the other hand, this admin sees nothing wrong with posting my personal information and earnings in his program. Seems like the privacy of members personal information is at risk with this admin.
What I will gladly do instead is provide these emails in full form to anyone if they have reason to doubt what Iâve said and wish to investigate this further for themselves. All anyone need do is PM me with their email address and a request. As long as they give me their word they will not be published publicly anywhere, Iâll be happy to forward both emails for their personal and individual due diligence on this issue.
Anyone is welcome to report here in the forum whether or not I complied with their request to further validate my credibility, just not the specific content in the private emails. Just please do give me a few days to reply since I don't visit this forum on a daily basis and do sometimes travel out of town for several days at a time.
"However let's look at the event's that led up to this isolated incident with one member out of the thousands we now have and the fact that if we were not paying our members as a matter of practice there would be a whole lot more talk about us than Ted's single opinion as justified as he may believe it is."
I donât believe I claimed that other members had commission problems. What I said was that there were more than a few other instances of dissatisfaction when interacting with John. But thank you again for demonstrating the sarcasm and patronizing attitude I indicated was present in this admin.
"After issues with Paypal we needed to update our database and requested all members to submit their alternate choice of receiving commissions.
It was Ted's responsibility to send the email."
When the email that I did send to John bounced, I sent another with my paypal account to Barry, one of the other two admin members. Since Barry has a sight impairment and sometimes has difficulty reading a large volume of emails I chose to responsibly have a backup in place in case he missed my message. I phoned the third admin who is also my sponsor to make sure the information got where it was needed. These steps seem responsible and appropriate to me.
Again, I had much more important personal issues that required my focus during these months than taking a lot of my time chasing down an admin to be paid a small commission that wasnâtâ going to be a financial hardship if I didnât have it right on time. I apologize if the passing of my mother got in the way of any larger level of attention the admin feels I should have been paying.
"If the issue was not being handled in a manner that was up to Ted's standards he also as all members do, had the option to just pick up the phone and give john a call. The number is on our website. No call from Ted."
Again, I contacted all three admin, two via email and the third by phone as a backup. Seems like a lot of effort for something that I shouldnât have to chase down as a member in good standing, but I made a good faith effort in 3 different directions to ensure someone could attend to it.
(The following point is out of order, but Iâm moving it here so as to not continue with this point by point and take more of everyoneâs time than needed to complete this)
"If he spent more time working at one business rather than geting people into one business just to try to get them into another and then another he might not have these types of problems."
TPSU is the only paying program Iâve been in that Iâve had any challenge receiving any due earnings in the past two years. That speaks for itself.
And I think we all know itâs rather common on the internet for people to be members in more than one program.
Iâm not going to continue further as Iâm sure by now everyone sees exactly what I originally reported.
Again, my attitudes and temperament are available for anyone to view by searching my posts in this forum.
See for yourself if I appear to be unreasonable and impatient, or if this adminâs rambling post filled with sarcasm, patronizing attitude, and a willingness to post private member information without permission more exemplifies what my post of concern indicated was my experience.
For now the 5th time, Iâll sincerely express my hope that this admin treat you all very well and that this works out for all of you. All I said was Iâll never do business with him again. His post clearly demonstrates why I made that decision.
Very best of luck with this to all, especially tman10 and richguy who I know from other programs.
Wow, I don't know what happened there...I tried to edit a spelling error and the format of the entire post got a bit harder to read. Obviously I made some kind of error in the edit feature.
Please accept my apology if this makes it harder for anyone to read clearly.
