Don't let another year pass without acting on your dreams.

I don't know how many fellow procrastinators I have out there, but if you are like me, you have let many great ideas and good opportunities pass you buy because you failed to "Insta-act."

I'm not 100% sure but I believe I created this term.(I hope I'm not pulling an Al Gore "Internet moment".)

I refuse to make any more or the standard, lose..., stop..., start... type resolutions that die by February. But I do believe that each new year is an opportunity to reflect on past successes and mistakes and build on the lessons learned.

As I began this self knowledge process, the thing that stood out the most on the "mistakes" side of the equation was the fact that my seemingly genetically ingrained procrastination (laziness) is what is holding me back from my dreams of greatness.

I missed out on the dot com explosion, I missed out on the property bubble, the rise in the price of gold, oil, and corn, and the "glory days" of internet marketing.

I was present during and had sufficient knowledge of these "licks" to make power moves during all of these great growth fazes in the US economy, but yet I sat on the sidelines while others cashed in on these opportunities.

There are people that lost their shirts investing in these areas, but mostly these were people who sat on the sidelines until "everybody was doing it".

That is one of the key metrics here; If you wait until everybody is doing something your chances of profitability are greatly reduced.

We must begin to Insta- Act. When you are watching t.v., reading, bathing, or just relaxing and that light bulb goes off over yuor head, Insta- act.

Move!

Get up grab a pen or go to your computer and put this idea in a solid form.

Don't check your email, don't play a little WOW.

Immediately begin to research "your" opportunity.

- Has someone done it before?
-How are they doing it?
-Can you do it better?
-What is the profitability if I succeed?

OK a lot of us are good at this part, but fall into the trap of "over analyzation".

No matter how much you analyze you are going to make some mistakes at some point. So what? This is where profitability lies; the solution of problems. The more problems you solve the more money you make.

Move!

Start putting together your manufacturing plan, sales process, download the needed paperwork. Do something towards the attainment of your goals.

If you see possible benefit or profit(more money, more health, more love, etc.) in taking a particular action , DO IT!

Take steps to reduce the down side (loss) but don't let fear stop you. Don't put your main focus on what can go wrong, focus on what will happen if everything falls in to place and Insta- act!

I may touch up on this later as I put these principles and thought processes into action in my own life.

I'll do my best to keep you posted. Now I've got work to do.

GOOD LUCK!smile.gif

Use Your Free Adwords Coupon!

It's Literally "Free Money!" speak_cool.gif

Stop procrastinating you'll be mad at yourself later.

First and foremost let me say: This is not a Google ad and I am in no way affiliated with Google Inc. other than my own private Adwords account.

Listen, I'm fairly new to the emarketing business and I know that most "newbies" look for cheap or free ways to drive traffic to your site, get clicks, or sell your products. I'm included in this group. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Google has found a way to get around all the marketing Scrooges out there. Their answer "free money". They have sent out Adwords coupons for $100 dollars to start your marketing campaign. They said that you had to use it by December 4, 2009 or it will drop to $75 dollars until the expiration date which is tomorrow December 31.

Guess what I just found out minutes ago?

Being my usual procrastinating self I threw the coupon on my dresser and forgot about it until yesterday. I just signed up for my new account today December 30, and I still got credited for the full $100(woopie!). yahoo.gif

A few quick facts about signing up even if you don't have a product to promote yet:

* They subtract $5.00 for account activation, so its really $95 dollars credit they are giving you. But who wouldn't pick up $95 dollars just lying on the ground?

* you do not have to create a campaign today (they give you 14 days from sign up to apply to your new Adwords account.) People signing up tomorrow have until Jan 13, 2010 to apply your credit.

*a credit card is required.

* you must have at least $10.00 on your credit card balance to sign up.

* they have a feature that allows you to cap your actual cash pay out to as little as $10.00

* lots of free tools to help you get started and on target (its in their best interest for

you to make money so they give you plenty of help.)

What you need to do:

1. Get a credit card if you do not have one.(and maybe if you do.)

- I wanted to get a separate credit card for my new Adwords account so I went to Walmart and got one of those pre-paid Visas for $3.00. I loaded the card with $50 bucks to start(you need at least $10).

- I intend to direct all affiliated payments for this particular keyword group to this credit card for better account tracking. That way I can see how much I'm spending on this ad campaign and how much money I'm making all on one statement.

_ This also makes it impossible for me to go over budget.

2. Go to the website on the card and sign up.

_ make sure you check prepaid option even if youare using your regular credit card this stops your ad spend at an amount you choose.

3. Choose the max. you are willing to spend per click(CPC) and your daily ad budget.

_ If you only account for The free $95 thats 95 free $1.00 clicks for your min. $10 bucks you had to pay.

_ And a whopping 1950 $.05 clicks!

_ Add your $10 to that and we're talking 2010 clicks for less than the cost of a hair cut.

4. If your haven't decided on what to promote yet, don't put anything in the "put ad here" spaces and hit continue.

_ You can go back later after you've done your research and created an ad on "notepad" or paper.

_ Where it says start date go to advanced options and choose when you want your ads to start showing.
*If I understand correctly the latest date you can put is Jan 13, 2010 for your coupon credit to remain valid.

5. Do your research!

_ Google gives you a great starting place and have some pretty good tools for you to use. My favorites are Keyword Tool, Conversion Tracking, Ad Placement Tool, and Website Optimizer (Test, Test, Test).

_ Adwords beginners guide(there are people paying $100's of dollars for this info.) Its under Aw help section.

6. Create keyword groups, post ad, and test till you're satisfied with the results.

If you've capped your budget the most you've lost is $10. It's a no brainer.

GOOD LUCK in your marketing endevours. thumbup(1).gif

I came across a few articles that talk about the current glut of adwords/google scams on the internet and in my inbox.ranting2.gif

Here is a brief summary:

* Google says it hasn't endorsed any of the fraudulent sites that use tag lines like "Use Google to Make 1000s of Dollars!" or "Easy Cash with Google: You Could be Making up to $978 a Day Working from Home!"

"Google seeks to stop a widespread Internet advertising scam that is defrauding the public by misusing the famous Google brand."

* Google says that many companies do legitimately make money placing ads on websites with Google AdSense.

* "Thousands of people have been tricked into sending payment information and being charged hidden fees by questionable operations," Google said in a blog post recently.

* "The scam victimizes unsuspecting consumers by prominently displaying the famous Google mark, by suggesting sponsorship by the plaintiff Google Inc., and by urging consumers to obtain a kit supposedly showing them how to make money working from home with Google."

Am I the only one getting Google will make you rich e-mails?

What do you think about this? Lighten.gif

smile.gifHere are some great marketing tips I found online:

Top 10 Ways To Make Money In 2010
thumbup(1).gif

From The Studies Of Remy Saintclair.

1. Tighten up your marketing message.

Addressing the most specific and passionate needs of your customers.

When you cater to your customers specific needs, you will sell much more, and you'll be able to charge top-dollar as well.

This works for everything from health care to cupcakes.

2. Value and ethics pay off.

People are very willing to pay top dollar for better quality, as long as you're giving them a valid reason why they should.

3. Curiosity is King.

Entrepreneurs who can create compelling marketing messages that arouse curiosity and self-interest will be handsomely rewarded.

Self-centered messages focusing on the company instead of the customer, however, will be ignored even more in 2010.

4. You must be a problem-solver,not a sales person.

If you want to differentiate yourself, you're going to have to start being a teacher first, and a sales person second.

Being a problem solver first and foremost, gives you the positioning you want and the credibility you need, to make big money.

Remember, no one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care.

5. Increased use of emotional direct-response marketing.

Doesn't matter whether it's vanity, greed, hope, or fear of loss -- pushing the right emotional buy-buttons is going to be a critical component of your success in 2010.

6. Increased use of direct mail.

You're able to select targeted mailing lists and create marketing messages that address your prospects unique and specific needs.

Plus, mailboxes today are less cluttered, which means less competition for your prospects attention.

7. Your USP had better be strong and specific.

Your USP is your Unique Selling Proposition.

Why should I do business with you, instead of your competition?

Attract those people who already want to buy these goods and services, and simply show these prospects why they should buy from you, as opposed to someone else.

8. Increased use of two-step lead generation marketing.

It gets you out of the convincing business and it lets you attract pre-qualified leads who are eager and enthusiastic about doing business with you. It also lets you share your story, which gives your prospects a much better opportunity to get to know you.

9. Take your cues from Reality TV.

If you're not using reality-based marketing, then you're missing out, big-time. Personal stories and opinions about you and your family, or situational stories of how you overcame specific business or personal obstacles, Hot news from your industry and only 5-10% promotional content.

10. More truth and transparency online.

You're going to need a lot more than a sales pitch or a clever logo to sell something.

This means having a personality and creating a long-term relationship with your prospects.

Notes are From author and lead generation marketing specialist Craig Garber.
