how to put password on your excel file?

Please help me how to do.... I need to protect some of my excel file so please tell me how can I put password there...?

What Version of Excel do you work with? If you use Excel 2007, that article should help you:

If you need a free Office, you can download SoftMAker Office 2006 here:
http://www.softmakeroffice.com

It includes PlanMaker, which is a spreadsheet like MS Excel. Here you can set write and read passwords for Excel files in File=>Settings=>Protection.

If you are using microsoft excel 2003
choose Tools tab and then click Option. Find Security tabs and voila, you can put a password there.
I never use any other version of MS office, but I think they are the same. smile.gif

I never thought that putting passwords in MS Excel really does exist. I guess I should try it out for myself.

Today morning I have worked with ms excel reports. After that I couldn't open all of them. I started searching for a reason, but luckily for me a next software simply worked out my trouble. Besides it demonstrated some of its capabilites gave a hint that is able to easily manage with some other condition as well - Excel repairing.

Other variant is to create an archive with your excel files and protect it with password
