There are a few important dates for you to be aware of as we continue along on our launch.
The dates ...

Jan 5th @ 12pm PST -- This is when the marketplace officially launches!
Jan 5th @ 3pm PST -- Referral grabs get credited (see below)
Jan 6th @ 12pm PST -- The first FREE grab product goes live!

Now, if you are a merchant, then the first date is particularly important because you will want to make sure and have your products added to the marketplace by that time. You might also want to create some promos too!

As we close out the first week of our launch, we wanted to provide a quick update on how everything is progressing.
With a program as large as PromoPit is, you could probably guess that there would be a few bumps in the early goings on ... and you would be right
BUT ... we are working very quickly through any issues that have come up and we are happy to report that some improvements have already been made based on the way in which members have been using the site.
We are now more excited than ever for the next few months as we take PromoPit from a startup to a recognized leader for buying and selling digital products online!
Grabs ...

So, what exactly are "grabs"?...
When you first signed up, you noticed that we started you off with 5 of these "grabs" ... but do you know what they are for?
The simple answer ... grabs are for "grabbing" FREE products!
So, where are these free products for you to grab?
The free products for you to grab will be shown in the upper left corner of the main PromoPit website (where that "Just launched" banner is right now).
To grab a free product, you simply click on the button to "grab it" and that will set you as the current "grabber" of that product. It costs you 1 grab every time you click the button to grab it.
The member that is listed as the grabber when the time runs out, gets it!
A new product then replaces it and another fun round of "grabbing" begins!
Now, we were preparing to activate these free products today, but we have instead decided to start these on Wednesday Jan 11th. The reason we are moving the date is quite simply to give more time to our merchants to get everything figured out without the added stress of trying to incorporate too much too fast.
We did really want you to be grabbing free products today, and we're sorry it didn't quite work out ... but in the end it will provide for a smoother and more exciting experience for all members!

VIP ...

The VIP upgrade is completely free to all members and provides additional benefits that you will really love.

So, if you haven't yet upgraded your account to VIP, then you will definitely want to do that before Wednesday when the free products start to roll out because VIP members not only get TWICE as many grabs as non-VIP members, but they also get insider access to see what the next 3 free products will be!

You have probably noticed little things suddenly appearing on the site over the past week as we continue to roll things out.

But what you haven't noticed is all the stuff happening behind the scenes! Our team has been hard at work every day since PromoPit went live (well, for many months before that as well ) ... so, just what have they been up to?

Promotional material ...

You will be happy to hear that the promotional material will start to show up in your members' area this week! It will start with things like banners and pre-written emails ... but that's only the beginning! Soon after, you will gain access to some really cool promotional tools like widgets, dynamic banners and splash pages, a powerful API, and more!

If you've been wondering about the best way to promote PromoPit, then don't worry because we are here to help you every step of the way. This is one area of the program that will continue to evolve and expand.



Free grabs (product giveaways) ...

Our testing is now almost complete and that means we will be opening up the free grabs to all our Standard and Pro merchants in the days ahead! This is great news because it will allow for a better variety of products being given away over time (they have all been Logiscape products during this testing phase).

Just remember, you need those "grabs" to try and win yourself a free product, so make sure you login every day and get the word out about PromoPit, because you earn grabs for new referrals as well!



MORE commissions?

Based on some feedback from existing and potential merchants, we have decided to add more flexibility to the commissions that merchants can offer!

Merchants will soon be able to choose the percentage of commission they want to offer affiliates ... from 25% all the way up to 75%!

This enhancement will be in place shortly, and all merchants will be informed so they can edit their existing products if they wish.



Become a merchant for FREE?

This is another area where we are enhancing the options for merchants. In the coming days, members who are wanting to become merchants and sell their own products, will have another option to choose from ... the "free merchant" account.

This new "free merchant" account option will not require a monthly subscription in order to start selling products on PromoPit. Instead, you would be able to simply "pay-as-you-go" ... purchasing credits as you need them, rather than getting them monthly as part of a subscription.

Now, while there are some additional benefits to setting up a merchant subscription (lower selling fees, more credits, etc), this new "free merchant" account option provides a very cheap way to get your products listed in the PromoPit marketplace.

For example, just a small one-time $7 payment would allow you to add up to 3 of your products. That's just over 2 bucks per product added and represents incredible value given the massive exposure that PromoPit has the potential to bring to you and your products.



Another commission enhancement!

As you know, when you refer someone to PromoPit, they are your referral for LIFE and you will continue to earn a commission on anything they buy from the marketplace in the future. This is a BIG advantage over other affiliate style marketplaces where you only earn the commission on that ONE purchase.

Well, after receiving some feedback from members, we have decided to take it one step further.

You see, it makes perfect sense that if you referred "Mike" to PromoPit and he signed up and made a purchase, that you would receive a commission on that. And if Mike then comes back to PromoPit another day and happens to see another great deal, then you would get a commission on that as well.

But, what if Mike is browsing the web and sees an advertisement for a specific product being offered at PromoPit right now ... and he clicks the ad to go check it out. Wouldn't it make the most sense that the affiliate that placed that ad would get the commission? We thought so too!

So, here's the improvement ... when you refer someone DIRECTLY to a specific product page (not the main PromoPit website, but the specific product page - which will be an option soon), and that person already has a PromoPit account, then we will override the commission for that ONE SINGLE purchase and pay the affiliate that referred the member to that product.

In other words, if you (as an affiliate) are responsible for generating that sale by referring that member to that product specifically, then you will get the commission even if they have an existing account under a different sponsor.

This provides the best of both worlds for all affiliates!

500 likes ... and growing!

We have already hit the 500 likes mark on Facebook, and we are just getting started! Next stop ... 1,000!

Thanks to everyone that has already liked us on Facebook. We have so many great things planned for PromoPit in the coming weeks as we gear up to our official (coming out of beta) launch on March 1st!

What happens on March 1st?

PromoPit will officially launch on March 1st ... but what does that mean?
Yes, it's true that PromoPit has been online since January 3rd, but for the past 6 weeks, we have been in a pre-launch mode and gearing up for our big official launch on March 1st!
During this pre-launch time, we have been hard at work fixing little bugs and issues that are common when launching a program as large as PromoPit is. We have also been working to complete the various items that are not yet active on the site.
As we approach March 1st, you will start to see some of these unfinished areas being completed in preparation for our official launch.
So, what will happen on March 1st?

As you likely noticed, the intial pre-launch of PromoPit was fairly quiet. In fact, we only brought in a small handful of JV partners (that we personally invited) to initially promote it. Our focus was to ensure that everything was working properly and to help merchants slowly get their products added while we monitored everything.
Well, on March 1st ... that is all going to change!
Once we officially launch, our promotions team we will be dedicating an enormous amount of energy toward making sure everyone knows about PromoPit!
And of course we will be encouraging YOU to promote heavily right along side us! Stay tuned for further details on all the great promotions we have planned as part of our official launch on March 1st!
Do you have to wait until March 1st?
While we have been in pre-launch mode, we haven't really pushed too hard for our members to promote, but that doesn't mean you can't!
In fact, we are currently in the process of building up the promotional tools section of the members area in preparation for March 1st ... so feel free to start using the banners and other tools/material as it comes available. Over the next week or so, this section will be full of material and methods to help you promote.

If you are a merchant (or considering becoming a merchant), then make sure you get your products added before March 1st. Better yet, go add them right now before you forget
With our official launch on March 1st, we fully expect there to be a LOT of new people coming over to PromoPit and this will result in a lot of exposure for you and your products ... so make sure you have them added and approved in the marketplace before the big launch!
Plus, it's still free (zero credit cost) for all merchants to add their products to the marketplace, and with our newly introduced "Merchant Free" account, you can also become a merchant totally for free as well. This completely removes any risk for those merchants that are just getting their feet wet with selling online.

There's still so much to come ...

PromoPit may just be a newborn in this HUGE marketing arena, but we have some very BIG plans going forward.
