Why must people hate on Macs, I own one and I love it! Whats your opinions on this?

Why they hate it? Ignorance.

It is hard to say if peole really hate macs or they're just not a fan of it. It is undertandable that some people gets irritated with some mac users that seems to show off their macs for the sake of showing off. However that case is not always true for mac users. What most bashers don't like about mac is that it is too expensive for specs that you can easily find in PCs that costs atleast 3x lower. They are hating on the fact that mac or apple can get away with it and many users are actually going for it. Nevertheless people who are used to their macs are having a hard time to shift to Linux or windows run pcs or laptops... Another thing is that...not all applications are compatible with mac. For games and most updates, it might take quite a while before you can get a compatible version for a mac which is a big hussle for most users. Because of these factors most people are having the notation that mac users equates to hipsters or people who are just going for the hype... But then knowing some facts like Mac's parts are made in the USA where in the production costs is much expensive... though assembly is done in China the fact that parts are from America it gives you an idea why it is expensive. While most PCs are assembled and parts are from different countries. People who do not need much RAM, Videocard in using their laptops are not really bothered if they are using a 2 year old technology that is double the price of its counterparts.

they are very highly priced compared to cheap PCs but run smoother and last longer. Some people just don't want to be in that whole "i" thing apple is all about.

1 thing is they are not common and user friendly as IBM based PCs.

Lol it is not a fact of hate or not to hate... its just that everyone is used to use Windows, and Mac is seen as "for experienced people only". In my opinion MAC is WAY better than Microsoft Windows, the thing is that people don't take the time to try it out.

I'm not a Mac user, but I don't necessarily hate them etc. I think they are interesting, but as you mentioned - I haven't taken the time to try it out. I know that a lot of graphics designers use Mac, and many people seem to swear by them once they make the switch.

While I don't really have anything against Mac's, I would be interested to hear why people decide to make the switch to them from PC. It seems like all of their hardware is somewhat interchangeable with the ability to interchange their data (i.e. music etc), so that seems pretty cool, and obviously, they seem to be on the cutting edge of innovation, but are there additional benefits?

Neither on Linux .. yet it does. Interesting isn't it? The only thing that won't run very well at a Mac are games. Everything else? Walk in the park.

The retina displays look very nice, however I know many people that think their Mac hardware they are getting (as far as internal parts) is somehow magically boosted because they payed 3x the correct value for it, but that is just isn't the case at all. They are paying tons more just because they are buying into a brand.

Top three reasons Macs suck:

1. They are overpriced for their performance.
2. They use proprietary hardware connections.
3. They have far less software applications available

Those are facts, now on a personal opinion level I think their operating system is inefficient and not intuitive which can be very annoying for new users. I was forced to use Macs when I was in school and I hated using them. Me and many other students would bring their PC laptops so we didn't have to suffer with using a Mac.

1) you're not paying for performance, you're paying for user experience. Windows sucks ... has for 20 years, we just learned to cope with it.
2) yes, and always on the forefront of technology. Firewire, MagSafe, Thunderbolt, etc. and MacBook Retina display can't be beat by anyone else. BTW ... it does have USB
3) You don't need quantity, you need quality. And that's what the OSX (also iOS) platform is all about.

What OSX version where you on at school? version 8? You cannot suffer with Mac. You are only suffering as an uneducated Windows user. OSX has increased my productivity to unimaginable levels. But maybe you need to be a professional first (cause as a consumer hooked on MSN, Hotmail, IE, etc. ? Yeah then Mac ain't for you).
