If you've been marketing online for any length of time you'll have no doubt heard the phrase "The Money's In The List" more than a few times. The reason that you hear this phrase so often is that it's true. To get anywhere you need to start building up a contact list but how do you do that?
The very first thing you need to do is get yourself an autoresponder account. I recommend EmailAces as it will allow you to create as many different lists as you need for different purposes. You might, for example, want to set up a list that is populated from a lead capture page on a web page and another list to keep in contact with your referrals in a particular program.

If you're building a list to keep in touch with your downline then you can simply use the EmailAce's import facility to add details of your existing downline to your list. If you're building up a list of new prospects then you will need to set up a lead capture page to capture your prospects details. I've been using a lead capture page to promote my "Pro Wealth Solutions Success" ebook and you can see it here:
http://www.spacewebs.com/recommends/prowea...olutionssuccessThat page is set up so that when somebody enters their details on the form they are added to one of my EmailAces lists. I've got that list set up as double opt-in which means a confirmation email is sent before the prospect is added to the list which prevents any spam complaints. So far it's been working well and with just a little advertising of that page I've grown my contact list by around another 400 people - and it's still growing!
So how do you get people to visit your lead capture page? My "Pro Wealth Solutions Success" ebook contains a number of great advertising resources, many of which are free, that you can use to drive traffic to a website of your choice. If you use those resources to advertise your lead capture page then you will start to get new prospects on your list.
If like most people you aren't skilled in building web pages then you might not find it so easy to create your own lead capture page. The good news is that a new company, PROFITmatic, has just launched and they provide you with very simple step-by-step tools that will help you create your own web pages complete with lead capture forms. I'm sure you'll be impressed by the quality of the tools on offer and I would encourage you to take a 7 day trial for $0.99 to see if the tools will be benefitial to you.

The key with marketing to leads is not to get them to sign up in your program but to get them onto your contact list so that you can follow up with them in the future. A great source of leads I use that provides 2,000 leads every day for 30 days at a cost of $20 is Key2Net:
http://www.spacewebs.com/recommends/key2netOnce you've got those leads you'll need a way to contact them. One of the tools I use for this is the MultiSponder provided by the NPN. This will allow you to import up to 1,000 leads per day and will automatically send them a series of professional pre-written follow up emails advertising a web site of your choice - such as your lead capture page.
http://www.spacewebs.com/recommends/npnAnother great tool that you can use to contact your leads is Royal Responder. This will allow you to import up to 1,500 leads every day. Unlike NPN the follow up messages aren't pre-written so you can create your own email series.
http://www.spacewebs.com/recommends/royalresponderThe best solution is to use both the NPN and Royal Responder with your Key2Net leads so that you're contacting 2,000 fresh prospects every single day. If you advertise your lead capture page to your leads you should find that those who are interested in finding out more will submit their details and you'll be building up your list.
