I got a new idea to make money online. So, I like to share it. Also, want to know it's inner strategies.

Website flipping is the art of purchasing, improving and selling websites. The term comes from the home industry where investors will purchase a property, renovate it to include value, and then sell it at a high price. Website flipping is basically exactly the same process online. A trader, or investment group, buys a recognized website, adds value to it and then sells the website in a higher price. Using the price of entry into domain flipping increasing, following a sharply increasing valuations of domain names, website flipping is becoming more financially accessible to the typical investor compared to domain name investment.

These are the steps you have to take.

1. Register a good domain name
2. Buy hosting from a host company like hostgator.com
3. Design you website to suit you domain name.
4. Put rich contents into it.
5. Generate good traffic to your website to get good alexa, google, yahoo ranks. The more popular your site, the more money.
6. List your website with either flippa.com or sedo.com and tag it with your desire price.

If you're in this business how much you ask for a domain with a good traffic website on it - lets say PR3. That's fair enough. How much do you sell them for? Is it worth programming / renting a programmer for you to do it?

One more. I guess all the keyword-rich domains are taken in their .com version. I think .net is as good as .com if talking about keyword domains and not a unique name just came into one's mind. What's your opinions?

Price depends on several criterias like site earnings and earning potential (sites are sold average for 4-5x monthly earnings), site age, site traffic, backlinks , ranking. I would personally prefer to buy site with less backlinks and medium ranking because then I could improve the ranking remarkably and sell for bigger profits or just keep it for myself. I think whatever domain extension you have it does not matter, all are equal because what matters is how you SE optimize the site.

great idea!
I rather prefer bulk buying domains for $7-$10 each then sell the good ones for higher price letting the others expire. For me buying a website on flippa or similar sites has a high level of risk. After buying a website with good past there is a hard decision. Whether to park the domain and harvest big money in short period or leave the site content there and invest on long-term.
