With Amazon promotions, I like to pick a product and make a top 10 list for that product. For example, cameras, I will take the top 10 rated cameras on Amazon and write a brief review on each one. By doing this, it seems that I get alot of traffic with very little work. I literally will make a site like that and set it and forget it after I optimize it. I get tons of clicks and sales seem to trickle in. I don't stress about it because Amazon is like my 4th stream of income. So whatever it generates is like icing on the cake.

QUOTE (vanished @ May 16 2011, 06:31 AM) Amazon affiliate program is good but they pay only 4-8% commission. I prefer clickbank as they pay %75 The thing is Amazon has a very good name. Shoppers in the main trust them. 7% of a lot is better than 10% of a little.

I made my first sale (actually three sales) by making an Amazon niche site. The commissions may be small compared to Clickbank, but they convert better.

Amazon really is a good way to earn good money but you have to know about your traffic, where it comes from if it´s targeted etc.

Amazon's affil program is nice, but I wish the affil commissions were higher.
I've had success with Amazon by making niche sites that are directly related to something Amazon sells. An example would be "how to grow thicker hair" and then throughout the articles on hair growth sprinkle in product recommendations with your affiliate link. Most people will click out of curiosity and some will buy.
Although the commissions aren't great, the add-on sales can be nice. I've had people click my link and then buy a completely unrelated item and I still get the sale because it was my affil link that brought them to Amazon.
That being said, try to think of items that people may not be able to find locally or that people want social proof (Amazon reviews) for.

You've given an important point, I'm also having a blogspot.com blog it got thousands of traffic within a week, however, I didn't get even a single person who clicked the amazon link, I think there is something problem with my niche, I made a review for an android smartphone, that is HTC Android, I think no one like to buy smartphones from Amazon. So, I think it's better to work on Amazon niches that are long-tail. Anyone can give me the list of top 5 Amazon niches?
