We would like to do something to send a donation of money to a charity.

What we will do is donate $1 for EVERY upgraded membership to any level of Supporter made between now and the end of December.

At the beginning of January we will send the donation to whichever charity has been decided upon by you, our members.

What we`d like you to do is reply in this folder, listing which charities you`d like to nominate.

Once we have a list, we`ll set up a poll for the membership to vote on.

The winning charity will receive the funds.

Please be specific. In other words, don`t just put `cancer charity,` be specific in which cancer charity.

So, if you are thinking about upgrading, doing so between now and the end of December will mean a worthwhile charity will also benefit.

Everybody wants that but we need a trusty collector. MMG's admins are trusty but don`t really want to get involved setting up a new series of special charity account.
Maybe we can make them change they're mind

If there really is a will for this idea, then we`ll certainly look at this again. I`ll get back to you on it.

We had 8 upgrades to Supporter level last week, so we`ve started off with $8 in the first week of this project.

We`ll be setting up a charity account with LR and that`ll be posted here shortly.

Any member who`d like to donate to the charity account may do so.

We still need some more suggestions about which charity to make our final donation to (though if there is sufficient in the fund we could even donate to a couple of the most voted for charities).

I was wondering if maybe we could consider doing a different charity every month, if this goes well?
If so, I work at a non-profit that I would like to nominate after the site comes back online (down due to a server crash without backup) ....

There are so many worthy charities to consider.

I have a Relay for Life team. We raise money for
the American Cancer Society all year long.

It would be great to have 2-3 choices but that would
call for lots of MMG member participation.

Can we do it???

Oh, and I'll vote for The Red Cross at this time.
