Just noticed all the google ad blocks are filled with 'earn 3500% after 1 day' ads.
I know you just want to earn money but have some heart... newbies will see and get suckered in. especially with these ads all over MMG..
Kinda enhances the 'scammer paradise' rep..

Just a thought

Are they just the Google text ads?

Well, it could potentially be viewed as speculation.
To my knowledge MMG can't necessarily tell Adsense "Don't allow this site _____"

yup basically full of craapy 3500% after 1 day etc sites.... i haven't seen a '10k free smileys + earn 1000% after 1 second' ad yet...

And because there are so many adsense blocks about now.. its just going to mean mmg members and guests will spend more on the obvious scams (which mods normally move to the scam section the minute they're posted). So they can pay higher CPC next round until all ad blocks are filled up.

I get these ads on my blog too and I literally feel ashamed to have links to obvious scams.

when advertisers start to realise they can get more value for money, and be advertised over more sites they will just by a prepaid virtual credit card and start advertising with adsense.

Shouldn't GOOGLE be the one to get the blame here?

That is where I feel the blame should be pointed. They're obviously taking the money from the scam sites to have it listed on the ads.

Maybe report the site to Google or something. It may eliminate that site, but it won't stop the next couple thousand sites from popping up also.

No not really, they are just an advertising firm and as long as the sites are in their TOS they don't have to do anything about it.
There are loads of different scam sites being advertised on google.. especially some of those crappy e-books which don't have a chance of working.

I know MMG can't really control the ad's they publish, but perhaps they can look towards different advertising solutions for the member's sake

Many different advertising methods have been considered on MMG, but what's important about something like adsense is that it provides backfill and only takes up any slots that are empty in rotation. The adsense ads are generated contextually based on the surrounding text on the page, so MMG really has no control over the ads that show there. If you do notice an obvious scam there, the best option would be to report it to google and google may remove the site from the adwords system. I know that most MMG members are smart enough not to invest in anything that pays 3500% in 1 day tongue4.gif

militaryinvestment.biz

I would like to point out that the amount of adsense blocks in the big banner section has decreased!
however I don't want those bloody ads all down the left of my page smile.gif

Look i've loved MMG for more than a year now, and the reason I love this place is because it has everything in moderation, but now!!!

Ads in the top right corner, huge ads under the header, ads at the end of every post, ads just before the footer.

And now tons of ads on the left hand side!! We might as well call MMG the new talk gold. wow.

Danny...

Smart enough you say? LOL, had you ever read about a guy who sold the effiel tower and yet someone purchased it! It applies to MMG too... the majority of the population of this forum have no common sense.
