Local search is two staged work, based on judging distance and relevance. I seem to remember getting some similar tasks way back when but I was mainly doing single result, some product and news tasks and then type 5, which I hated as it meant landing on 10-12 pages for each task with a ridiculous expectation of tasks per hour. I lasted about 18 months before being dropped, which was pretty standard.

Feck, I love logging on, clicking Acquire for Type 2 task, and then only receiving 1 task.

Loving it!

Anyone else getting error messages on the Overlord's site? I've wasted 15 minutes already this morning, on tasks I can't submit.

Yes, but luckily(?) my tasks wouldn't even load, so I didn't waste too much time.

Did they hire you back at the new starting rate or the old hourly rate?

Hi All,

It has been a bittersweet experience for me with LB. I joined almost 2 years back and had some decent work till last June. Then the NRT season began. I waited and waited for work to pick up again but nothing happened. My earnings started reducing every month and when it hit rock bottom - 43 USD for the whole of December, I decided that it was time to quit and look elsewhere.

I managed to get a job on a temporary basis, as I have mentioned here a few times. It was (and is) tedious and pays only half of what LB pays in hourly terms, but this being a full time job I get paid for 8 hours a day.

On Feb 28, my employer confirmed my position for a year. That's when I opened the LB portal and hit the 'want to resign' button. A couple of days later I received a confirmation mail that my resignation is accepted.

Then the twist in the tale - 5 days after my resignation was accepted I got a mail asking me to work on a set of sample tasks for moderator position for type 2 tasks. ranting2.gif I replied saying that I have already resigned....and guess what! The guy actually spoke to the other department and got my ID reactivated and asked me to work on the tasks. I replied saying that it's too late now and I have got myself another job.

I am just..... post-36326-1110185726.gif Wonder if I did the right thing....

I guess it must be the new rate. I do remember having to take a pay cut way back when.

On another matter, can anyone explain the quality audit process to me? For the tasks I am doing it says audit against percentage must be less than or equal to 50%. Do they audit randomly, just taking a sample of the total work you do?

You're doing a completely different task type in a completely different employment position. I have no idea how a local results rater gets evaluated, but 50% sure sounds reasonable! As standard raters, we have to maintain 75% or 85% for senior raters, at the newly increased quality rating bars which are challenging to put it mildly. Maybe another Local results evaluator could answer this question?

I just got an email saying good job on improving my quality but that I need to try and maintain 85% or higher since my previous score was so low. No pressure or anything. :<
