Not sure if entirely the same but about a month ago they told me I was having quality problems with certain things and were telling me to attend a webinar. I tried asking them for examples or help but they just told me to attend the webinar. Tried twice to attend the webinar but for some reason it wasn't working right on my PC and never got any support back about how to get it to work so I just went on doing the same things as before and ended up with a 4 star rating..

did they ever lock you out from tasks though?

Did they specifically state that they locked you out? There have been fairly common periods over the last month or so where there are not any tasks available (NRT is what we call it). I was just curious if the time you didn't have tasks overlapped a period of NRT. Are you still without tasks? I may have missed that in your post.

I have heard of people even with 5 star ratings getting reviewed before. Reason they were give was that that the star ratings are based on a larger amount of tasks than what would trigger the quality review. You may have only gotten 5 tasks wrong all month, but they could have been the 5 tasks that the review team looked at closely. Make sense? Either way, hope that you are able to get working and start to enjoy Lionbridge again. I know that most of here do for the most part.

Thank you for that response.

Yes, they did state that i'm unable to acquire tasks specifically because my account is under review. There was actually a surplus of work that week per the email they sent, and thats why i was shocked i was getting NRT for several days straight. When I emailed them asking what was going on, that's when they told me.

I'm not sure what you mean. I notice they have feedback regarding tasks you do, and i assumed those selectively sampled tasks were what they based your quality and star ratings on. They obviously can't QC all your tasks, so i always assumed they selected a handful at random and those tasks were the basis for your rating or review.

you're saying it doesn't work that way? Just wanted to clarify. and thank you, that is helpful to know.

I had the same thing, never had less than 4 stars, but was going too fast on type 1's and the system automatically kicked in and created a review, during which I couldnt work.

lol...seriously, they punish you for going TOO FAST? I understnad if quality sucks but otherwise that's called being productive. that's so ridiculous

how long did your review last btw? and what did you do to remedy it?

What I'm pretty sure they do is they put into our queues a certain number of tasks that they have already reasoned ratings and justifications for. They're probably randomly dispersed. Then, they compare our ratings to their ratings and using some kind of algorithm, assign our star ratings.

Sorry dude, but thats just a silly guess based on little to no information.

They do somesort of analysis with the data they receive from raters, thats all you know, and anything else regarding algorithms or how they work (ie, star ratings influencing that), is just silly guess work.

I was took off on the weds and back on the following monday. there were a coupe of errors in there which I had to reply about how I'd avoid repeating those errors.

since being suspended for going to fast I've stuck absolutely rigidly to the productivity times, whereas previously I'd greatly exceeded them (and never got less than 4 stars.)
but you know, you can't be too careful, can you?

btw when suspended its not NRT, its a bit different, all the tasks in the resolving queue dissapear too.

@cormega82
--
more than 10 days ?..thats a long time to review... heard before that they ussually kick someone less than 10 days review..
I dont think you ll be kicked since you mostly have 5 star
but I dont know about current reviewing process..
and it is different for every country -
Looks like they assigned one worker ( person) in charge of a country worker... ( I think)
so its kind of personal opinion.. ( kind of)
----
I ve seen on portal that more than 2* for 6-8 mo period they 'll kick you..
Dont know about that either...
Most worker i ve talk to ( in here ) kicked for less work ( they dont work enough to reach 10 hrs.. if there s task )
bad performance worker.. dont know anyone kicked out for that reason.

You can almost always tell which URL tasks are the "dummy" quality control tasks because they never come back in task resolution. Usually, if you have a very tricky task, there will be some disagreement among raters and you'll notice the task in the resolution queue. The tasks that show up in our quality control examples, though, never go through resolution and as I peruse them, I can specifically recall completing those tasks and saying, "oh, I bet this is a QC." Also, the quality control tasks are sort of...standardized. (Like a standardized test.) They're made so that everybody has a chance at getting them right.

Sure, it's just a guess, but it's a pretty darn good one.

yeah, the tasks in the resolving queue disappear. i've never seen the screen that i see now at any point in time

@wopal...it's been 10 days as of today. actually, maybe 9. i think the last time i was able to acquire tasks was monday morning of the previous week. It was either later that monday or the next day when i stopped getting tasks.

They finally emailed me back with a copy of the email and an explanation. Apparently they're having trouble with the email server or something. they said the stars are a general assessment of your quality but they also do other QC (like someone else had mentioned before to me in this thread). Apparently i had problems with certain sbs. i'm pretty sure i know which tasks those are. the new format where they have basically all the same results but the order is changed and you don't give any star ratings. i didnt know the rating was based on the order the results show up. it never mentioned that anywhere

Do they track time other than the time you report in the portal?

Hey Guys,
Long time no post here. Been my 4th year aboard and still a happy rater. Though my income has decrease to 25% of my first invoice, LOL.

About star rating, I usually got a 3* like, 3 4 3 3 3 5 3 3. Then suddenly after months of 3* I got a 5*. I'm just wondering whether I'm inconsistent or the star rating is not really trustworthy?? If I don't know how I end up with the stars, how do I improve quality?

Thank you for your post.
I am getting the same type of error with their server -- "The page isn't redirecting properly.
Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

Have you already reported to them about this problem?
