First of all, as a Detroit fan, I must say that watching the Boston Celtics finish off the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals two nights ago was a bit aggravating. Maybe next year, guys...


BUT...There's still a big debate around here about who will most likely win the Championship for 2008. Looks like we're down to the Lakers and Celtics.

Who do you guys think will win?

L.A. or Boston? And why?



As for me, I originally said at the beginning of the 07-08 season that I expected Boston to make it to the end, and I'm sticking to it. But, we'll see.

Lakers....an all around better team .

Lakers. Boston's struggled in every playoff series. Lakers have met every challenge the West had to offer.

If Boston was firing on all cylinders like they're capable of, they could be a very difficult team to beat. Even then, I think the Lakers will be very difficult to beat. Kobe is going to take over the game when he wants. There's really no one that can defend him one-on-one.

For one that has not liked the Pistons since the Bad Boys' days, I found myself rooting for them because they got my boy Stuckey playing some good ball, and really carrying the team because Billups was obviously hurt and not playing very well at all.

Lakers in 6, but I can see this ending in 5.

I also have to admit; Stuckey was nothing short of amazing as a rookie in the playoffs. Dumars redeemed himself from that whole "Milicic" incident when he grabbed Stuckey.

Pierce leads Celtics to 98 - 88 win in Game 1

BOSTON (AP) -- Paul Pierce, who used to sneak into Lakers games as a youngster, came bounding out of the tunnel from the locker room after leaving with an injured knee and led the Celtics to a tense 98-88 victory over Los Angeles on Thursday night in Game 1 of these tradition-soaked finals.

Pierce's dramatic return after being carried from the court and wheeled down a hallway for treatment will be added to the annals of Celtics-Lakers lore, taking a spot alongside Magic Johnson's baby sky hook and Kevin McHale's clothesline of Kurt Rambis.

Kevin Garnett scored 24 points, Pierce finished with 22 -- 11 after getting hurt -- and Ray Allen, the third member of Boston's Big 3, added 19 for the Celtics, who are chasing a 17th NBA championship.

easy wins for boston

Game 2 was probably the worst officiated game that I have seen in a Championship series...in any sport.

Not only does it look bad for being a horribly called game, but then comes in the past games that were officiated by Donaghy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Donaghy), and REALLY makes it looks bad.

I turned out to be a bigger fan of the NHL this season than NBA. NBA really needs to reconsider how the game is played...or at least officiated.

An amazing comeback for Boston last night, wow!

Boston now leads the series 3 - 1. According to Kobe Bryant (L.A.), he took 20 shots and went to bed. I hope he was joking, but after a game like that, I wouldn't doubt it.

I think he said he wanted some beer, some whiskey and about 20 shots... ugh...

Couldn't believe they let the Celts back into that game...

The youth of the lakers is killing them. Only Fisher/Kobe have the experience...
