Hello everyone. If you're looking for a unique investment, please take a moment to review my summary. I initially posted this in the casino/gambling thread, but since it is an investment opportunity, I feel it more appropriately belongs here.

Here is the information on the team/investment.

--About Me--
I am a MBA student from the Midwest US. I graduated with my BS in MIS & CS, and have been working full-time in the IT Security field since graduation. I began learning the finer points of blackjack while in high school, and practiced as much as I could without actual 'casino play'. After turning 21, I gained a lot of 'real world' experience and have perfected my game over the last few years. Part time, I am an AP Blackjack player. I have been utilizing AP techniques for slightly more than two years, have logged more than 2000 playing hours, and played more than 150,000 hands, resulting in profits slightly above expectations. My goal is to continue using AP Blackjack as an income supplement.

I realize there have been previous posts with opportunities to invest in a blackjack team. However, it seems they were never largely successful, the posts were not continued, or it was a scam.

This is a realistic opportunity to invest in an experienced blackjack team. It is not a 'get-rich quick' scheme or a guaranteed payout in a short period of time.

--Why are we looking for investors?--
If we have been doing well, why are we turning to others to bankroll our play? Simply put: we want to increase our wagers while keeping an acceptable Risk of Ruin (RoR). This will also translate into a much higher win rate in terms of $/hour and game quality.

--AP Blackjack--
Some of you might have heard the term 'AP' before, some have not. Obviously, card counting is involved (Simply put, you bet small or nothing when the house has the edge and much bigger when you have the edge). It is more than just card-counting - it is specifically playing games with the absolute best playing conditions, as well as using advanced techniques to increase our win rate (i.e. index plays, beatable side bets, etc.). Of course, the game selection is limited solely by the bankroll. In addition to counting and taking advantage of beatable side-bets, there are other techniques I would be willing to disclose solely with interested investors only.

--Why we are different--
Why have other teams not lived up to expectations? Two reasons - 1) they are too large to manage and 2) mistrust/greed. Our team consists of three blackjack AP's - each personally invested in the teams' success. We are not dependent on blackjack for earnings and cash flow, our expenses are low to negligible, and we are more immune to burnout due to our playing style, and 'restricted' hours played per week. There is also no projected turnover in the team - all three work full-time and have no plans to move away or quit playing.

We live in an area that offers multiple casinos within acceptable driving distances. Expenses are minor - gas and food. Possibly lodging if our investment warrants play at some of the best games offered in the country.

Each player will put in a minimum of 10 hours of play each week (Team total - 30 hours/week).

--Potential risks--
I must inform any interested investors that even though AP Blackjack is a proven way to make profits - it can be very unnerving if you are not aware of the potential fluctuations (just like the stock market)! Nothing has caused counters and investors to give up Blackjack more than a lack of understanding about normal, everyday standard deviation. Playing Blackjack carries a risk of loss. The advantage a counter has over the casino is small and the fluctuations in a player's bankroll can occur with frightening speed. Proper management of funds is required in all aspects of the game to reach the "long term".

--Estimated Win Rate--
The estimated win rate in $/hr is only achieved in what is called the "long run". Typically, 10,000-20,000 hands played is seen as the minimum amount of play to produce the expected results (depending on game quality, of course). This does not mean it will always take that many hands to reach the expected win rate - it means that after 10,000-20,000 hands, the win rate will be very close to expected results. However - the numbers work themselves out and after the appropriate amount of play, the variance involved matters less and less - up to the point where you are consistently winning at the expected rate. The expected win rate is based on the game quality and correct bet spread - both will be discussed with serious investors.

--Money Management--
Money Management is CRITICAL. Counters bet only a small portion of their capital on any given hand, because while they will win in the long run, they could lose any one hand. By betting an amount which is in proportion to their advantage, they are maximizing their potential while minimizing the risk. It isn't possible to play only where the true count is 2 or higher. Sometimes, bets must be placed when the house has an edge. Negative-deck play cuts into the win rate, but by knowing the conditions which can cost money, steps can be taken to minimize their impact on earnings.

Example bet sizing and win rates: If your average bet is $25 and the average advantage you have over the house is 1.25%, your expectation is to win $25 X .0125 = $.31 per hand. At a rate of 60 hands an hour, you can expect to make - in the long run - about 60 X 31 cents = $18.60 an hour. If you can increase the number of hands you play per hour to, say, 80 hands, you've raised your expectation to 80 X 31 cents = $24.80 an hour. The bet size is just a function of your bankroll - the larger the bankroll, the larger the bet, the more $/hour. Increasing rate of play will increase your hourly standard deviation. As an investor, it is in your best interest to have your money played on as many hands an hour as possible.

--Our Goal--
Our goal is to produce as much profit possible with acceptable risk and betting limitations.
Minimum capital required: $10,000
Ideal capital requirements: $50,000
Exceptional capital requirements: $100,000+
Expected return based on ideal $50,000 investment: $75/hour
- Based on minimum 60 hands/hour, $100 average bet, 1-6 spread ($50 minimum bet)
- 20% bankroll profit in approximately 134 playing hours (At 30 hours/week, this approximates to 4-5 weeks).
- 8040 hands minimum
- Pessimistic scenario: 20% profit in 250 hours (roughly 15,000 hands) - (At 30 hours/week, this approximates to 8-9 weeks)

Playing updates will be provided regularly. Records are kept after every playing session. Updates will be sent weekly or bi-weekly (investor preference), including # hours played, outcome, table rules, etc.

--What I am Proposing--
In exchange for an investment, winnings will be split 50/50. Monthly (or weekly) reports will be provided to the investor(s). If multiple investors are involved, each investor will receive 50% of the winnings tied to their investment.

Profit payout is quarterly. In the unlikely event $0 profit is realized at quarter end, no profits will be paid.

Investors have the option to withdraw principle with each quarterly payout. However, earlier withdrawals possible on a case-by-case basis.

Payouts in certified check, cash or wire transfer. Funding also in certified check, cash, or wire transfer. Funds will be held in a local safe.

EXAMPLE PAYOUT: If Investor A supplies $10,000, and Investor B supplies $20,000, the total bankroll is $30,000. Winnings after # of hours are $5,000. Investor A originally supplied 33% of the bankroll, so Investor A would get $825 (50% of $1650). Investor B is entitled to $1675 (50% of $3350). The number of hours played per week will also be discussed to estimate earnings.

--Fees--
With local play, no additional fees are required! If traveling, gas (or plane tickets)/food/lodging is deducted from primary bankroll as a business expense. All attempts will be made to minimize expenses through comps, coupons, etc. Travel enables a wider range of games to be played. Players will discuss potential travel with investors BEFORE any action is taken.

--Required Forms--
A contract and NDA must be signed before any play begins

--Investment Summary--
Annualized, $117,000 profit is expected on a $50,000 bankroll. That equals a 234% annualized profit return! This is based on 30 hours/week for 52 weeks, average $75 profit per hand.

Breakdown:
$58,500 profit to investors; $58,500 to players. Projected ‘realized’ yearly profit to investors: 117%
Potential profit could be higher if quarterly profits are reinvested in bankroll.

If you're up for a unique, high-return investment, THIS is it. This is not a scam. I would be more than happy to answer any of your concerns I have not addressed here.

If you are interested, please PM me and I can send you a PDF with additional details on the investment. I apologize that I cannot send PM's due to not reaching the 25 post minimum, but I would be more than happy to communicate via e-mail until I have achieved 25 posts. Please provide me your e-mail for more information.

I'm surprised at the lack of interest. Perhaps this is not the best way of recruiting investors?

Does anyone have ideas on what would make this investment proposal more appealing?

Are there better places to post my proposal to reach a broader audience?

Lastly, should I be updating the post with our groups net win/loss every week? Obviously, I cannot post all of the details (playing location, type of game, etc), but I could post other items?

Thanks!

I wanted to provide some updates. An investor with a $1000 initial investment in October 2011 would have seen a return in excess of 1000%. The investment would currently be worth $11,500.
