open up zone alarm, click on program control tab, main tab, set program control to low or medium! if you set it to medium you need to set smart defense advisor to off! this is below program control! wink.gif

Zone alarm is really a great program. However if you dont do what has been explained, it can really be a headache for you.

Be sure to read the HELP and go their site for support as well. They are pretty good at lending a hand. smile.gif

Yes, it is a major headache! i would consider myself to have fairly advanced knowledge about general computer usage! But when I installed zonealarm the first time I got so many alerts every time i surfed i just changed back to windows firewall! But i came back to it one day and figured it out! So it can be very annoying if you dont how to turn set up your firewall to work the way you want! Its the same for spyware software!

You can safely disable alerts when your firewall blocks attempts to connect to your comp. But it's best to manually approve programs before letting them to connect to internet from your PC. If a trojan/password stealer tries to connect, you'll see an alert and will be able to block it from sending any info.

That is normal when you first install Zonealarm, but after all rules are provided by you (accepting some IP's like Hotmail IP) or other sites you will receive rarely alerts (of course if you don't have a lot of enemies) harhar.gif
