ING direct is a very nice online bank. it's one of the few banks that lets you view your monthly interest as it accumulates. I also have some cash in their aggressive mutual fund that's had nice performance lately.

I've been banking with for a couple yrs. and made over 1K in interest.

The 3.4% is variable. I've seen it lower, and a lot higher.

I thought of this the other day to post in here. For money for new sign ups and for me.

Anyways I make a daily 3.8% or somewhere around there a month here at ING. Its low risk babyyyy.

3.8% per month at ING? i dont think so Right now ING pays 3.4% per year on their main savings account. or are you talking about their mutual fund?

Damnit, thats what i meant, and I wasnt sure of the interest rate, because it keeps raising every know and then, thats why I said it was around 3.8 or so.

I never check the account, if i do, ill probably take the money out.

I have money in an ING savings, but i put more at emigrant-direct.com because they pay 4% which makes a significant difference after a few months.

Not exactly. Remember most banks compound daily then credit the interest monthly. If you put 10k in an account and didn't touch it, you'd have $10,340 at the end of the year assuming the interest rate never went up or down during that time.

It's not exactly an online checking account, it's an online savings account attached to an outside checking account. It takes a step or two to withdraw so you have to think before you move your money, making it easier to save IMO.

I've been using it since the beginning of the year and making weekly deposits into the ING Direct savings account using their deposit feature. Love the interest rate!
