Just go to HSBC and open up a Personal Savings Account. The bank transfers are free so this is great. Money sitting in your account doing nothing but earning a little bit for you every month. I'm pretty sure you can trust HSBC, after all they are a pretty huge bank.

Trying it now. I would say HSBC is a trustworthy bank and putting your $ in there should be safe enough.
Plus 4.25% ain't too bad for a reputable bank.

HSBC is a very reputable worldwide bank. The interest rate is one of the highest - especially for a no minimum and monthly fee free savings account. If I actually used a savings account, I would open one with HSBC.

So can anyone tell me if I would be able to send and received payments to the savings account if I were to set an account up for my exchange service? Thanks.

You would be required to transfer the funds over to your savings account. I am not 100% sure if that is what you are asking...

I opened a savings account with them the last part of January and I couldn't be happier. I funded my HSBC account by ACH transfer from my local bank. I was also able to hook my HSBC account up with my EMO account so I can send my funds from EMO directly to my HSBC account, and then when I need the funds, move them over from savings to the checking account I also opened with them online.

Right now until April 30th they're paying 4.80%. I received my interest payment a couple days ago and was very pleased with it. Granted, it was only a few cents, but now I know how to figure interest on my account too. All I need to know is my average daily balance. I multiply that by the current rate being offered and divide it by 12 (months) and it worked out to the amount my account was credited with.

They're a little slow at answering emails through their private email system - it usually takes a couple of days for me to get a reply - but considering how many people have accounts with them worldwide, it's probably no wonder.

To find out which countries they offer their services to, go to http://www.hsbc.com/ and at the top you'll see a line that says Visit Your Local Site with a half dozen countries listed. Click on "more" and you'll see a list of quite a few more (from their site: "Our international network comprises over 9,700 offices in 77 countries and territories across the world") they offer services to.

I don't work for HSBC nor am in any way affiliated with them outside of having accounts with them and I'm, overall, very pleased with what I've seen thus far smile.gif

HSBC is one of the best banks.

if you are really serious in investing try the fixed deposit option. you can get high interest rates (they have 3 month fixed deposits too)

The 4.25% is the interest by year? Here in Brazil interest rate is 3 times that!
