I came across a few articles that talk about the current glut of adwords/google scams on the internet and in my inbox.ranting2.gif

Here is a brief summary:

* Google says it hasn't endorsed any of the fraudulent sites that use tag lines like "Use Google to Make 1000s of Dollars!" or "Easy Cash with Google: You Could be Making up to $978 a Day Working from Home!"

"Google seeks to stop a widespread Internet advertising scam that is defrauding the public by misusing the famous Google brand."

* Google says that many companies do legitimately make money placing ads on websites with Google AdSense.

* "Thousands of people have been tricked into sending payment information and being charged hidden fees by questionable operations," Google said in a blog post recently.

* "The scam victimizes unsuspecting consumers by prominently displaying the famous Google mark, by suggesting sponsorship by the plaintiff Google Inc., and by urging consumers to obtain a kit supposedly showing them how to make money working from home with Google."

Am I the only one getting Google will make you rich e-mails?

What do you think about this? Lighten.gif

Google is a such a massive, far reaching company, actually I would rather call them an entity, that other companies (including scams) are bound to connect their names & ideas to Google. I think this is inevitable, unfortunately there are plenty of these (get rich fast with google scams!) out there, however I'm sure Google itself doesnt have any actual connection to them.

I'm not getting any emails like this. But I've got no doubt that it is nothing but a scam. And these scammers are using Google's good reputation to establish credibility and thus lure more people into believing that they are legitimate.

It's a sure red flag so I'd be careful if I were you smile.gif

Its some like phishing.
You get a e-mail with full logos of companies you know, and strong brand names you even might have used in the past: amazon, goggle, go-daddy ect..
They ask you to log in "or else.."
I delete them as they show up..

These are not exactly Google scams. These are probably scams around Google. I think now all this sounds like Google is fooling someone. In general, there are lots of scams wherever the money is. And there is a lot of money around Google now.

Google seeks to stop a widespread Internet advertising scam that is defrauding the public by misusing the famous Google brand.
I find Yahoo Advertising to be the most cost efficient with the highest conversion rate.
We have over 15 % conversion rate for many keyword groups with Yahoo, Microsoft slightly lower and Google giving the lowest conversion rate.
The advantage with Google is that they have most traffic.
